Good for you. I have heard that many who use it regularly, especially those who love there sound of their own bollocks on Twitter, have started to believe there is only truth and fact out there if its not MSM…
Laura Kuenssberg still acting as Johnson’s press officer. Telling us all that the Government has changed tack because “The science has changed”. No it hasn’t, the science has been the same since January. What has changed is that the medieval science of ‘Herd Immunity’, otherwise known as ‘culling the elderly and weak’ has been called out for what it is. Panic stations when the government were told that continuing with it would mean at least 250,000 deaths. But Laura can be relied upon to keep faithfully parroting the government line without questioning any of it. She is so far up Johnson’s arse she can see Robert Peston’s shoes.
Only thing I would say is that "herd immunity’’ is and can be a good thing when its driven through VACCINATION, not through Cumming’s eugenics/euthanasia approach through infecting 60% and fuck the olds.
As much as i detest LK, it SEEMS that the science did change.
See the rather long explanation I posted above…
tl;dw - The university doing the modelling used an assumption about the level of need per patient in hospital that was only half what COVID-19 actually is.
When the assumption was changed and the model ran again, then they could see that the 60% immunity strategy would overrun the NHS very quickly. Derr!
Which explains why our approach was so different to the rest of the world (incorrect modelling assumption) and why the government has now changed tack.
What hasn’t been explained to my satisfaction is why we are still keeping schools open and why our hospitality businesses are being set to be slowly strangled to death due to the advice given to stay away from them. And all of this without any compensation scheme for the businesses that are being strangled.
As MOT has just posted, herd immunity only works if it is done in tandem with vaccination, all immunology scientists agree on that. The main, pretty much universally,(apart from us) accepted scientific rule is comprehensive testing for the virus, as stressed by the WHO yesterday. But we know better of course. Government advisors just announced that there are probably at least 55,000 people infected in this country, even though they are spouting bullshit official figures of about 1,500. What is the point of that? They will never know the real figures without comprehensive testing, aas shown by Chinna, South Korea and others who are faring much better than us in dealing with it.With just about the the whole world closing down schools we are keeping them open, for the moment, which will change shortly i have no doubt. In the meantime the people running the show here will keep the ‘herd immunity’ going for as long as they can get away with it. They have no idea of the extent of infection, isn’t it strange that our ‘scientific advisors’, pretty much alone in the world are ignoring WHO advice.
The government have had three months to prepare for this, but their priority has been protecting their economic self interest rather than saving lives. Just a reminder, here’s what Johnson - Churchill was saying less than two weeks ago. "It should be business as usual for the overwhelming majority of people in this country, for the simple reason that this is a great country. Compare that with his press conference yesterday, like a rabbit in the headlights, stammering, blustering, blatantly contradicting what he said two days before. It’s not the type of leadership we need at a time like this. "Suggesting’ that people don’t go to the pub or theatre is ridiculous, do what the rest of the world is doing, close them down, by law. But of course that would mean these businesses would be entitled to claim insurance or compensation, that would never do. Imagine the howls of outrage from the likes of Rees-Mogg and the hedge funders just at the thought of it. Far better to let them all go bust, throwing thousands out of work. Save any compensation for those who really need it, like a certain gentleman sitting on the beach on his tax haven Caribbean Island sipping champagne, and calling for UK tax payers to throw a few billion his way, on top of the countless millions he has received already ripping off the NHS and railway network. Sell your fucking island first you cunt!
He really say that and wasn’t laughed out of office?
They all seem to be covering the cenotaph drunks back.
Remember, we’re lucky to have the stumbling fool.
‘Slagging off Boris Johnson seems another form of denial. Would Jeremy Corbyn be doing any better? If scoring party-political points at a time like this is your priority, you have the incurable virus of self-righteousness. Sorry. People will die in huge numbers, and it is true, of course, that inequality and austerity kills. This is not new information, but this virus is new and how we behave cannot be based on how we behaved three months or even three days ago. We don’t have enough ventilators, hospital beds or the testing that seems more important than ever in how we move forward; arguing and point-scoring won’t help with those essential, urgent practicalities.’

Boris warning of More ‘extreme measures’ - powers go detain people and forced isolation… has a rathe Unpalatable and ominous tone to it… introduce more draconian measure when you can convince folks it for the good of the country and then never change them back … hallmarks of Cumming’s ‘solutions’ - that many makes me utterly sick. A disposable excuse for a human being.
