Again. No amount of hand washing will cleanse me of the horror of agreeing with this
Your parents and mine are thankfully the sane ones in their age groups(assuming they understand the percentages).
Living in fear, particular at their age is no life and self isolation to a lot of pensioners is surely no different from a death sentence.
Fair point, but living in fear of a possible re-emergence will get us where exactly, considering the ājust in timeā world?
There seems to be no interest, let alone direction from above, apart from a bit of language control.
The word herd to describe people for example. Donāt know about anyone else but my first association with that word is bovine. Is that where eugenics boy is taking us?
They seem to be leading people to panic whilst at the same time generally underplaying the potential. Something either stinks or theyāre thicker than even i thought.
My sister has effectively put my dad in isolation she will probably end up taking his car keys from him to stop him going shopping on his own.
An interesting explanation for the governmentās volte-face on social distancing.
And that is my big issue with the current measures. Self isolate, slow the spread, ease the impact on the NHS but when we are all released surely it starts all over again?
I agree with your logic but just to underline how fucked we are with planning assumptions, we donāt know if COVID-19 āsurvivorsā have any form of short or long term immunity.
Who gives a shit.
I have Wodka
You could have trimmed your own response, by simply typing ātl/drā
Bastard, I am offshore and could be here some time. We have 1 bottle of Vodka on board for medical emergencies and that is locked in the OIMās safe to keep it away from me.
Not quite⦠it would be hoped itās like other viruses⦠as folks self isolate and others recover, number of new cases declines⦠eventually, folks are. I longer contagious and the virus is in effect gone⦠but yes if could come bac, maybe is a different form⦠hope would be that folks have developed an immunity or that a vaccine is developed before another shore outbreak
Indeed, no hysteria , no fear hyperbole, just simple adviceā¦

I think Lewis is a little frustrated by the governmentās lack of decisive action.
As was said above the government is creating the fear that together with their advice will keep people away from businesses (large and small) without any support for those parts of the economy.
We need a socialistic response to the problem. The state and not the market is going to make this bearable.
Indeed⦠I think when this all settles and we see which large businesses did get help from the Government/ Tax Payers, how many of those are Tory party donorsā¦
There is anti-competitive legislation in place to stop any such singling out. Hence BA already threatening any help for Virgin (for their own reasons of hatred)
Of course I appreciate that this forum is hardly known for its balanced, fair-minded, middle ground, opinions on anything political
