You should get a capture card. I am certain that the site will enjoy greatly the majesty and splendour of Barry walking around a fantasy world getting physically destroyed by various fantasy creatures.
I will put a tenner toward it.

Decided to scratch that car itch by getting a copy of Forza 7.
Probably the wrong thread but found a coffee shop in Cardiffās Arcades full of retro gaming consoles (some working) and paraphernalia
This was a standout item
Took the plunge on Elden Ring. Itās a fascinating old beast. Very little in the way of handholding and Iām still mastering the controls, but things have gotten a lot easier since I got the mount. And yes, itās a lot of fun doing a āhorse-byā on someone.
Actually a good game if you like a grind. Thereās a resting mechanic which you can use to refill everything, but it resurrects anything youāve killed so far. Iāve found an area which contains a few soldiers I can just go and kill (theoretically) and nip back to level up. Rinse and repeat.
Itās a very scary game. There is no pause button.
So since my last post, Iāve spent around two hours attempting one simple thing in Elden Ring. Kill every motherfucker in the damned village. I finally managed it, boss too. I feel like a fucking ninja at the moment.
Where I perhaps have gone right, where @Not_Barry perhaps went wrong, was in class selection up front. My character isnāt well armoured, but has a magical attack and can easily stealth kill most things.
While the combat AI is really a lot of fun to deal with, some of the stealth mechanics are a bit broken. Unlike some other games, where everybody starts looking for you if they find a dead body, most of the soldiers discovering my handiwork are like āhey wow, itās a dead body. What time is lunch?ā
I donāt mind. Always hated half of stealth games being body-dragging anyway.
Pap if that is the first village and it took you 2 hours this game will take you 15 years to finish.
I have to say I am average at games, no more no less and this is beyond me, well beyond me, the combat mechanics are basic, unfair and poor, it is because Iām shit at it but also I feel its so lacking in defensive areas of fighting, even locking on is shite.
Iāve given up trying to do anything other than copy off you tube, the game is well beyond my gaming abilities.
Yet having said all of that there is something about this game that does deserves the hype, its massive and the map is crammed, so much so I can not think of a bigger game Iāve played.
If youāre a good gamer Pap Iām sure youāll get more out of it than me.
Did you manage to beat that bastard on the horse patrolling the field? I ended up swerving him the first time, but now have a summon, so can set some wolves on the fucker.
Donāt go anywhere near a tree sentinal, youāre miles off of that yet ha ha, heāll mangle those wolves in seconds.
I did. Apparently it is possible to do that boss at a low level. I just canāt do it. He smashed by up a bit. Just found that big cavern. Youāll know the one Iām talking about if you found it.
Iām on Agheel the mother fucking dragon.
Beat Margit the Fell, he is a hard bastard.
My son is laughing saying he is not even a first story boss, wait until Godrick the Grafted
I know, I wonāt get that far.
Elden Ring has obsessed me since Saturday. I am going to sleep thinking about it. Iām spending time thinking about how Iām going to do a certain thing next. The last game to get such a hold on me was World of Warcraft back in its second age (just after the South Park episode).
Itās a good comparison, because at their core, theyāre very similar games. Take a character. Makie it better. Traverse it through a fantasy world.
The focus though, is completely different. WoW is mostly about dice rolls. Elden Ring is mostly about skill.
I have been moaning for years about things being the fucking same and me being a fucking old bloke and not wanting to waste my time on things that are the fucking same. Most open world games are the same. A TO-DO list simulator of various technical quality.
Always admired the Crackdown games because they were action sandbox, especially the first, but Elden Ring is perhaps the finest example of it out there.
Let me know when youāve beaten the tree sentinel. I found him easier than others to be fair. Itās a grind game but also very good.
Elden Ring is mostly about skill.
Youāre one of the first gamers to say that, counting opponents moves? I suppose but some you canāt counter or even get out of the way, Iād imagine thereās a lot of cheesing further along.
They should have had an easier option for people who simply wanted to explore, on the pc version thereās been some mods so you take 25% less damage and give out 50% more or the other way round, on consoles weāre fucked.
And wait until you fight a crucible knight.
I am level 40 now.
My grindspot is pretty good. 1K souls per kill. Started off having to use the flash of Wondrous Physik and having to stealth them, often getting killed.
Now riding about like a champ slapping them from afar with magic.
What have you fought though, how far are you in?
