The whole idea of micro transactions can fuck off. They are everywhere now and here to stay
The thing is, we are not the target market - we have spent too long buying an entire game for a fixed price to be too readily accepting. Its the next Fortnight generation who have been brainwashed into accepting this.
My nephew doesnât think twice about dropping ÂŁ20 on CoD coins - to him its part and parcel of the game
Fortnite brainwashed them into this, GTA also, the whole thing of downloading a whole game and then having to pay for half of it to be unlocked is shite.
Seriously @gavstar - check out Train Simulator DLC. I think if youâd bought it all, you might be able to afford a real train with the same money
The FIFA FUT thing is basically a form of gambling. There are a lot of countries coming down hard on the practice with legislation, but itâs taking a while because as usual, politicians donât have a fucking scooby.
Ordered cyberpunk, not giving up on Elden Ring, but its so attritional and grind for average players like me, apparently only 30% have got past the 1st boss!
Oh I am but strangely the game insât like âone more timeâ effort when you lose its more like Iâll go and explore and find something I can beat, how long that stays fun and good for is the thing, I like a challenge and my limit is say God of War 4 which was quite tough on normal but I found rewarding when youâve beaten a Valkyrie but this is a whole lot harder than that and the combat system isnât anywhere near as refined as most.
He makes some interesting points even if he is an irritating twat
They are obviously trying to push the boundaries of micro transactions - I suspect it wont be the last time Sony pull this stunt. I also bet that had they got away with in Microsoft would have piled in. They have got to monetize some of their investment acquiring those games companies. I hadnât realized that they had already started gouging there punters as well, albeit not to the same extent
I thought the comments re cars reflecting real life value and rarity were interesting - people play these games so that can drive these cars because that cannot access them in real life
I know - I just think is a bit shitty. Unless you have time to burn, or deep pockets then they are beyond your reach (just like the real world) - that just a bit shit
Iâm interested to see where this will eventually lead (apart from less pounds in my pocket). I only tend to play one game at any one time - i donât have the time to do anymore and stay married - so I donât really care about being able to play a load of old PS1 games.
My only fear is that they start making the premium subscription necessary to play certain content going forward - its the sort of snidey shite that seems to be par for the course these days
Had a fucking gutful of Elden Ring, too hard, fucking ridiculously hard, going to play Cyberpunk. Played GTA V on ps5 today and that was wank, no one was on there.
