Trump did not explicitly rule out military intervention regarding Panama and Greenland, so the media are running as if he could consider it.
But is does raise an interesting question - if the US did intervene militarily in Greenland, where would the rest of NATO stand given that it is under the protection of Denmark - In theory we would have to go to war with the US.
As much of a gobby prick that he is, I think he believes this is a rational path to take, he is justifying it in the ‘interests of national security’ but it smacks of aggressive expansionism to me, especially now Canada has been thrown into the mix.
