Being good enough to play in the Premier League hints that they are probably able to run rings round us lesser mortals on the football pitch. Maybe it’s more how they are being coached?

Yes but they play in the premier league not the tyro league, its about buying shit plain and simple.

So in your opinion they’re not good enough to play in the premier league but have been bought by people who work in the industry day in day out? Do you feel you’re wasted in what you do in life :joy:

Everyday, but that doesn’t detract from the fact our defence has been shit for 4 years.

That is the most absurd comment I’ve read on here.

He offers the square root of fuck all.

The comments on the fail report about the OG are brutal.

Still.

I found a positive

I didn’t go to watch in the pub.

Not an unexpected result according to the Sotonian pundits…

Start as you mean to go on

Can’t remember when I have been so pessimistic about a football season.
I had thought we may have seen the last of strange team selections, weird tactics, and good players playing out of position, but sadly not.
I have a nasty feeling that many of our best players will want away come January, and can’t say I would blame them.
January will be too late to start a new manager - I fear the team spirit will have been destroyed.
Perhaps I’m wrong - all the strangeness may prove to have been quite normal, and we will now go on a winning streak for two months, get 40 points, and then lose all the remaining games.
Deja vu.

That’s what I find amusing. Don’t think for one minute I’m happy with yesterday’s result and performance but everyone had us down for a loss. It’s 3 points people … Had the misfortune of dipping into fiverweb this morning just to see … blimey, it’s all “Ralph out” over there (when you can get through the adverts !). I understand the whole “out of position” thing but let’s get this into perspective. We played OK for long periods of the game yesterday. We scored. Even those “out of position” played OK in periods, just not all the time. We had a shite preseason and it’ll take time to come good. On to Leeds next weekend, a win under our belt and it’ll be rosey in the garden FFS. Besides, it’s my birthday today so sod off with all your bitching and moaning and blow the top off a frothy one and raise your glass to me. COYR

Tell you what, since February I have got more joy out of the woman’s game than I have the mens. Looking forward to our championship season starting.

I’m sure then men will get it together. Give it 10 games and see where we are.

We weren’t as poor as the scoreline suggests, and at least our heads didn’t drop as early as they would have last season. But I think what most are saying here is that our weakest areas from last time out don’t seem to have been addressed, and the front line looks odds on to be weakened further with the seemingly inevitable departure of Adams.

Happy birthday, by the way :+1::+1::grin:

Happy b’day :+1:

Square pegs in round holes with a general sense of cluelessness.

Our fans? Bit harsh IMHO, probably less than 50%

We’ve been here before and Ralph has sorted it. I think the problem is the same as before: we’ve gone away from going the things we do well with the right players in the right positions. Only in the odd game has three at the back worked. I think Bednarek and Salisu are better as a two: a third CB gets in the way and leads to indecision. What I’d do is take the team that had a decent run last year, which is intact except for Forster and Broja, make minimal changes and go back to 4222. We’ve got Bazunu as a decent replacement for Forster: no problem. Livramento is out but Perrauld is cover as long as he’s fit, which he may not be with Djenepo starting ahead of him on Saturday - although I think it was a positive choice by Ralph. He sees Djenepo as a better attacking force but he doesn’t get back. He’s no KWP. I’d like JWP in his holding position alongside Romeu, although you could argue Lavia is an upgrade. SA and Elyounoussi or Aribo as the 10s. Then the problem. We need two strikers and we haven’t got any functioning ones.
Pick any two you like for now or maybe a 4231 with JWP or Lavia given licence to move forward. Then you only need one striker. But I think the problem is all of our strikers need a clinical experienced partner.

Rant over.

Something is off with Che.
Perraud wasn’t ready to start.
Small isn’t ready for the EPL yet.
Couldn’t find a cover Full back although looking.
Arma had a good pre season and who would expect him to turn to Jelly.
Tbh not the complete disaster and the square pegs in round holes is not valid - we are trying to find the players and Ralph & Horseman have both said 4222 is our DNA but we need options.

It was fvcking terrible but I found Real Ale at Lidl so I’m over it
