At least we’d have had a laugh.
Assume Che is off. Why didn’t he start? AA would work better alongside Adams than Aribo. Gonna be long old season.
Strange starting line up, with players out of position. No Stuart Armstrong who would be one of the first players on the team sheet. Bring him on and play him out of position.
Bit like the start to last season at Everton. Took the lead, then went to shit.
I’ll add we had a proper scrapper loyal fan base in the early to mid 90’s and when we were in league 1 and the championship.
You’re right Ralph, it isn’t surprising because you have done this repeatedly with the exact same players. What is surprising is that you expect a different outcome. What is also surprising is that you vocalised your displeasure about our defence last season and said you’d definitely be adding quality in that area. You then added ABK but STILL persisted with last season’s dross. Time will tell whether ABK provides that quality but we already know how shite the others are so what exactly was the point in not playing him?
Valery may have looked okay in parts during preseason but there is a reason we’ve let him go in to the last year of his contract and still there’s no takers for him.
It looked for all the world like Bednarek was going to leave, yet somehow he’s still at the heart of this shit defence. Apparently Bednarek told Ralph he didn’t want to play against City in the FA Cup quarter final because it was just before a Poland match and he didn’t want to get injured. So he can get fucked and out of my club.
Djenepo at left wing back, gave the bloke acres of space to cross for their equaliser. So he isn’t very good at defending? Shock horror.
Salisu’s own goal was embarrassing. One of the worst and most avoidable I can recall. Use your right foot or take a touch. Or two. You had acres of space and plenty of time. Shocking.
Aribo. The club and media posted quotes about Ralph asking what his best position was. He said number 10, from the right. So what does Ralph do. Plays him up front.
Meanwhile WTF is going on with Che Adams? Is he going to leave? Despite us already needing another striker and Mara not deemed good enough or ready for the bench at this point. Most fans accepted that Che was our second striker, who may not be prolific but he works hard and holds the ball up well. So we need a goal scorer alongside him but he’s pretty reliable. Doesn’t get on the pitch despite us playing two midfielders up top instead.
I was Ralph’s biggest fan but I am rapidly losing patience with him. It is quite tedious listening to him bemoan these mistakes from the same set of players over and over again yet simultaneously supporting the policy of buying young players who are seemingly not ready to be involved, despite the alternative being atrocious.
Rant over. For now. Until next week.
I was there and I’ll agree with some of that. I’ll take the rants one by one.
Dnenepo is not a wing back. We need Perrauld then Tino back. Salisu had a decent game and I don’t accept it was a stupid og. He had no time to react.
Valery was quite good. Didn’t understand the sub.
Agreed JWP is best sitting although he did get forward and score. Lavia is promising. Bazunu did nothing wrong.
Was Ralph making a point when he took off our only striker? Don’t know why Che didn’t come on but we desperately need a new option there.
Spurs are a good team. Their first two goals were from very telling diagonal crosses in that needefd stopping at source. But with three CBs it’s disappointing that we didn’t defend them better.
Where was Elyounoussi? And Bella-Kochap?
Have you seen the replay/highlights yet? It wasn’t fizzed in at him. Regardless of time to react, he should still go with his right foot. He’s a professional footballer and should use his weaker foot. Going with his right foot brings the ball away from the open goal, whether that be a first time clearance or a touch. Much safer. Trying to get the left foot to it was awkward and ultimately disastrous.
At least me and Ralph can agree on that.
Including everyone on here
EDIT: OK maybe not @JxgrSaint and @SimplySaint who may have still been in nappies / short trousers
In our purple patch in February FF was stand out. Big tall confident and talking to the defence.
Bazunu can be faulted for nothing today except going a bit wobbly after conceding.
Some nervy attempts to play out from the back & those nerves spread like covid.
It needs time and composure
And a fvcking striker.
Ralph won’t play 352 next week
The only way is up
Or stay where we are
How much are you willing to bet?
Remember the Burnley game towards the end of last season…
Its groundhog day, what pricks at St Marys think our centre backs are any good? They’ve been shit for years.
This guy does - Czesław Michniewicz
He looks a right useless cunt, the sort of bloke who couldn’t reverse a car or change a plug socket.
That may be true, but he is also the manager of the Poland national side
They’re wank also.
I’ll buy you a bottle of Cherry Vodka when you come over.
Mainly because Ralph & Dave Horseman said the formation was horses for courses and didnt give us the right options in home games
Quite was 4222 is in our DNA
I watched a shit CB getting done 1 on 1 in the game before ours tbh
Yes but that has nothing to do with us having shit centre backs for 4 seasons.
