Rats leaving a sinking ship?
Hoping there might be a silver lining in all these by electons.
Enough evidence to ship Starmer would be great.
Eh?
Indeed.
Sorry
Was on my phone.
Starmer is a cunt and Iâd like him gone before the next general election.
Im hoping an underwhelming performance in these polls makes Labour pull the trigger.
Youâll end up with Yvette Cooper
Itll be interesting to see what Burnham does next. He is far from perfect, but he has actually governed
Sadly I canât see that happening Pap, Burnham is already complaining that every time he puts his head above the parapet and comes out with something positive the Party machine immediately clicks into gear and starts briefing against him. It really is McCarthyism as pointed out in the piece Fowllyd posted the other day and I have no doubt that Andy Burnham would get the Jamie Driscoll treatment If it was felt Starmerâs position was under threat. And the double standards are shocking, just look at the racist right winger Darren Rodwell and some of the things he has been coming out with, but remained on a parliamentary shortlist and is now a confirmed parliamentary candidate. Likewise Ian Austin, John Woodcock openly calling for people to vote for Boris Johnson to stop Jeremy Corbyn. Christian Wakeford, a right wing Tory MP who crossed the floor and has been welcomed with open arms by Starmer. And Mary Creagh, Starmerâs favourite to stand against Jeremy Corbyn in Islington, spent the 2019 election campaign urging constituents to âVote Tory to stop Corbynâ. All still in the Labour Party. In Scotland two Edinburgh City councillors were expelled for refusing to vote Tories onto the council to block the SNP. Starmer perfectly happy to have the former most senior Orangeman in the UK as a candidate. The hypocrisy and double standards goes on and on. Former MPs who defected to Change UK or became Independents who campaigned against Labour in 2019 being quietly readmitted to the Party by Starmer. As a lifelong socialist and Labour Party supporter I suppose I should be shocked by all this but sadly Iâm not anymore. The truth is that much of the Party professional machine and others campaigned against their own party for four years, and Starmerâs leadership bid was bankrolled by a man who funded Change UK and who runs the largest Israel lobbying organisation in Britain.
Utter stinking hypocrisy.
Perhaps this is why Johnson simply resigned.
From the Grauniad:
Keen to capitalise on Johnsonâs frustration with the government, Nigel Farage suggested he would be open a new form of electoral pact with him. âIf he wants to defend his Brexit legacy, I want to defend my Brexit legacy too,â Farage told the BBC.
âWould there be a possibility of a new coming together on the centre-right? It would be Boris Johnson, there would be other MPs that would join in with this as well.â
Farage claimed up to 10 sitting Tories could join and added of Johnson: âI have discussed it with people very close to him and around him.â
They know the knuckle-draggers will lap this up.
Mad Nads playing silly buggers
She flounced before she realized she wasnât getting pushed upstairs
I bet she is considering another couple of years of income and pension contributions
plus if she gets turfed out at the next election she get a hardship bung
Oh how I laughed when it was disclosed yesterday that the Lying Oaf was informed back in February that Mad Nad wouldnât be allowed a peerage so wouldnât be on his honours list, yet he told her last Thursday that she definitely was on it. When she was asked yesterday,(on Sky News I think), if it was possible that Johnson could have been lying to her she replied, âOh no,100% noâ. Deary deary me. All those hours on her knees under his desk came to nothing!
Hell hath no fury like a Woman scornedâŚ
The joy is unbounded. Boris was facing 90 day suspension (increased from 10 because of his contempt for the committee). Heâs totally thrown his toys out of the pram this morning.
Shows how desperate the Tories are to get rid and write him out of history. I can see both sides of it. No doubt he consistently lies through his teeth and deserves all heâs got but equally no doubt his party are lining up to stick knives in his back. Heâs now toxic.
And meanwhile Dorries is having her own tantrum refusing to resign until they tell her why she didnât get elevated to the Lords. Means she can delay the by-election to be held separately from the others and cause more embarrassment.
Btw, I did a bit of canvassing in Ampthill, Dorries constituency on Monday. Many say theyâll never vote Tory again because of her. In fact, she was described consistently as âthat fucking woman/waste of timeâ
Just noticed that autofill changed Boris to Virus in my post above. How apt.
Political editor, BBC News
Blimey. This is a report - in breadth and depth - that demolishes Boris Johnsonâs character and conduct.
Letâs be blunt: it says he lied.
So fitting that the Commons vote that will finish his political career takes place in Monday. His birthday.
He, like Trump, is such a habitual serial liar that he doesnât comprehend the concepts of truth and lies.
From Brexit to the election and throughout this scandal he has worked on the same principle: what can he say that will get him what he wants? Truth doesnât come into it and he canât cope when heâs called out as a liar, has it explained that lying to Parliament is a serious wrong (as is lying to the electorate) He simply expects that everything he says will be accepted, and throughout Brexit and an election, he fooled the people into doing exactly that.
And I do t think for one minute that Sunak is any better. He may be more subtle and he may present a bit more gravitas, but heâll still say anything to get the result he wants.
That describes pretty much anyone in the House of commons.
