:tories: Tories in trouble?

Yep I had seen that.

Mike Rollings, one of the local councillors, is a top guy. Used to work with him and he is a Saints fan. :+1:

So - this is the ā€œmigrant bargeā€ planned to house them damn asylum seekers/ refugees in Dorset.

ā€œā€¦The boat, with 222 rooms, has been refurbished since it was criticised as an ā€œoppressive environmentā€ when the Dutch government used it for asylum seekersā€¦ā€

I’m getting an almost 19th century prison hulk vibe though

You’d think threatening to send them to Dorset would be enough of a deterrent.

The Singaporeans did this during Covid - it was ripping through the migrant construction worker dorms so they stuck them all on a few of these and towed it out into the harbour

What I don’t understand is why there are two registers - one for MPs and one for ministers. No10 is saying it is on the ministerial register

Does the MP one exclude family interests - I could understand the ministerial one being more stringent

If he’s listed it on the ministerial list as he claims, I can’t see what the problem is. And to be honest, is it really plausible that he would make a policy decision based on his wife’s shares in a child care company gaining some value as a result? Obviously the Guardian are going to present it as the biggest scandal since Watergate, they’ve become a parody of partisan reporting nowadays, but it really doesn’t seem that big a deal to me. And I speak as one who voted for Corbyn.

My local cunt of an MP has resigned over bullying.

I was hoping the Tories would exonerate him and prove to the electorate they’re all cunts.

The lunatics over on the Daily Heil are going mental so some good has come out of it. The comments below the line are worth a look for five minutes or so, most of the commentators are in meltdown. Apparently Raab is a thoroughly decent chap who has been forced out by the woke lefty snowflake brigade, and would have made a very good Prime Minister.
Your core Tory voter right there!

I read an interesting comment from someone who worked in the Foreign Office who worked upon evac plans for dodgy countries

Firstly every dodgy country has an evac plan

They basically say sit tight until notified, then go to a pre determined location and you will be evacced

This usually goes to plan and is relatively easy / safe. He said where it tends to go tits up is where people don’t want to leave property/ businesses and decide to tough it out. Then when shit really gets real they have a change of heart and start asking for help

Now the stakes are much higher and the risks to those personnel who have to do it are much greater

A bit like that Pen Farthing dickhead who didn’t want to leave Afghanistan until he realised he was about to be Talibanned
