Last night at the latest hustings in Gloucester she told the assembled fan club how nice it was to be in Derbyshire, as she is a Northern lass. She’s a fucking retard.

Liz Truss accused of offensive remarks about Jewish people and civil service | Conservative leadership | The Guardian
Poor old Liz, she really is a nutter. Presumably she is pitching this nonsense at the 150,000 Tory members who she clearly thinks will lap this up, they are the only ones she’s got to worry about. But now the Jewish establishment are throwing their arms in the air, it will be interesting to see how she gets out of this one. I have no doubt she will do what she’s done since the start of her campaign and blame it on the media “misrepresenting” her. Jeremy Corbyn must be enjoying this.

Truss is proposing that Scottish assembly members are given the equivalent of parliamentary privilege - I wasn’t aware they didn’t have that. As a result they have been unable to hold the SNP to account for fear of legal repercussions eg the Alec Salmond saga

The really funny thing is that, over the years the Conservatives have conned people into thinking that they are the Party who support small business. But the evidence shows that they have nothing but contempt for small businesses, they are crippling small businesses all over the UK. What they really support are large, tax avoiding monopoly corporations who are raking in countless millions of our money, and donating large amounts of it to their vile, corrupt party.

I remember on here, not long after Johnson became PM, posters berating those of us who were calling Johnson and his Tories out for what they were for picking on poor old Boris, “it’s unfair, he’s doing his best”, etc. They know who they are. But anyone with an ounce of nous has no excuses now for their enabling of the sorry state this country is now in. It’s always been common knowledge what Johnson was, what he stood for, it’s never been a secret. His sackings from at least three high profile jobs,(including one as a government minister), for his lies and dishonesty was common knowledge. He’s a sociopathic, narcissistic crook, always has been. His record as London Mayor should have told anyone all they needed to know. The countless millions of public money just disappearing into the ether, for non existent garden bridges and the like, old Etonian and university mates being hired as ‘consultants’ on non-existent ‘projects’ on six figure salaries, six figure sums paid to his American pole dancing brass for “IT lessons” and first class trip’s on trade delegations as Boris’ PA. All done while he had a wife at home, battling cancer, without a care in the world, with a breathtaking sense of entitlement, and absolute contempt for the 95% of the rest of us. Too many of whom, sadly and pathetically,(IMO) were happy to defend him and cheer him on. “Good old Boris, isn’t he a lad”.
Well all you Tory voters, have you had enough punishment yet, has the penny dropped? Enough shit on our beaches, while the water utilities are handing out six figure bonuses like confetti to the people responsible for it? Ditto gas, power, fuel etc. Well I’m afraid we ain’t seen nothing yet because Prime Minister Truss will be like Boris Johnson, without the brains and cunning. It’s going to be a long and troubled autumn and winter, I just hope and pray it doesn’t all kick off too early and fuck things up for my winter migration to |Thailand. Now that would really piss me off! Rant over.
NB: I may be a tad over refreshed. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

A rant of beauty, Rob - and I think your points are massively relevant to the present time.

The “I don’t give a shit about this” waterline is rising. The Just About Managing that Theresa May’s cronies focused on, are going to be fucking underwater.

Back to a point I made earlier. Elections are about self-interest and people will vote for the thing that happens to be in their self-interest.

With that waterline rising, we’re going to be in the dangerous situation where they cannot vote in their self-interest because neither party with a sniff of getting in wants to rock the good boat HMS Status Quo.

We’ve got either Truss or Sunak for the Tories, both interested in creating more corporatism and gutting public funding further. Starmer is no better. He wants to spend ten times the amount it would take to compensate the shareholders in order to nationalise them.

Water is now spilling into the posher decks of the HMS Status Quo, I wonder how long it will stay afloat.

Gove has jumped over to Sunak.

Not sure it matters now. Tory members got their ballots at the start of the month. Most of those votes will be in already, I reckon.

Get ready for hand-grenade Liz I reckon.

As if Sunak didn’t have enough problems…

I did wonder how long it would take Gove to reappear. He’s kept a low profile recently. An odious little toad imho.

I don’t know whether to disagree with the hand-grenade assessment because:

  1. it credits her, sort of, with having an actual impact; or

  2. it underestimates the carnage she will actually deliver and should be a thermo-nuclear blast

He’s actually been in the news a bit lately. One of the few ministers to get sacked by Boris instead of resigning.

In this race, he initially backed Kemi Badenoch then switched over to Truss, then to Sunak. I think it’s sweet that he thinks people care.

Amazing that to protect their interests the Tory elite look like replacing a fairly intelligent lying turd with a totally thick lying turd.

I think she’s genuinely stupid enough to get us into a war, if only because she’s really shit at geography.

I must have missed it - or I automatically give it a swerve if his name/picture appears in anything.
