:tories: Tories in trouble?

I think Starmer is just as, if not more dishonest than Johnson.

Say what you want about the lying fat cunt, but apart from some COVID-related tax hikes, didn’t really deviate much from the manifesto pledges.

Starmer has broken pretty much every one of the pledges he was behind when he was campaigning to be Labour leader. How could you trust a manifesto from this man on that basis?

Don’t trust either of them tbh, regardless of who is marginally less of a cunt.

I imagine Jeremy Hunt will have to shut up now. A very poor return of votes.

Mordaunt’s submarine strategy appears to be working. Second place. If those placings are still the same at the end of the Parliamentary phase I imagine she stands a strong chance with the membership.

Think a lot are royally pissed with Sunak for his betrayal of Johnson.

Poor old " Boris" eh Pap? And he got Brexit done and all! (Howls of laughter).

What’s tragic is that we got him in the first place.

I always wonder what would have happened if Corbyn had given the sort of speech to the country as leader about the EU that he did when he was a backbencher.

Eight turds in a backed up toilet. Jostling for position. Oh wait, two of them have disappeared down the gurgler. Six left now, talk about spoilt for choice.

Mordaunt wins this now I reckon.

Novara Media is well worth watching tonight. Their analysis on Mordaunt is that she’s the real threat to Starmer as he’s based all his opposition on Johnson’s personality, contrasting his “competent” and “trustworthy” self.

They reckon Mordaunt is putting tanks on that lawn. Hard to disagree. Basically the Tory candidate needs to be “not Boris and preferably not involved in Boris’ downfall”.

She’s doing May’s submarine strategy. Even looked a lot like her when gesticulating her way through her vision speech today.

I think Penny Mordaunt is the actual Theresa May, who finds a time machine in the future, fucks off for a facelift in the future and has come back to wreak her revenge on Boris Johnson.

It is perhaps no surprise that Penny Mordaunt is an anagram of Torn Punned May.

Does it really matter? To be honest I’m past caring, they’re all deluded far right wingers, that’s the choice we have like it or not, bought and paid for by who knows who. ‘Any advance on 20% tax cuts’? This country is fucked, our would be next leader, whoever it may be, will just drag us further down the rabbit hole. Fascists is what they are.

Well, depends if she’s as good looking as the Aussie porn peeps. I’d usually call them ‘stars’ but any perp with a camera set up and internet connection can star in porn these days! Mind, sounds about what this Penny is practically doing lol

Johnson has tabled a Vote of Confidence himself against his own government (to be debated Monday) which could open a real can of worms.

Firstly. I wonder if Labour could push an amendment (not sure if you can for a VOC) to reinsert Johnson’s name. It would lose but if a debate and vote could be forced it commits Tory MPs to defending Johnson, which will bite them at the GE.

Or could Johnson actually want to lose, thinking it would precipitate parliament being dissolved and a GE with him still at the helm, and thinking he can win and save his bacon? Ridiculousl, but his ego is so uncontrolled he believes he can do anything.

But there is a theory in that scenario that the actual Queen could refuse to dissolve parliament on the grounds that the Tories can still form a government: they just need to sort out a different leader.

But even then, Johnson could argue that there is no confidence in the government - it’s not him - so the government has to go. Don’t think many Tory MPs would rate their chances in that scenario.

Will be an interesting day.

Now now.

The Queen has no real power.

We’ve all been told that. Forever. So it’ll be interesting constitutional times if she does.

When was the last time a monarch refused to dissolve Parliament?

All the runners and riders who are left in the leadership stakes all seem to agreed on one thing, the country needs change. They’re going to get a fucking shock when they find out who’s been in charge for the last 12 years.

Even the fail is confused

Boris Johnson calls a confidence vote in his OWN government for Monday

I suspect it won’t because all the Tory loons will vote to ensure they are saved and thus giving them a false mandate to continue on with the circus :circus_tent:

On a separate theme. Nice to see a bit of infighting along with more alleged donor issues

Another one bites the dust.

Suella Braverman is out of the race.

I live such a sad life that I’ll probably watch this, even if just on YouTube after the fact.
