:tories: Tories in trouble?

Holy Shit - The minister for 1837 is considering throwing his (top) hat into the ring

As far as I know, she’s not actually running for the top job. Which is a pity, because she could bring a couple of impressive assets to the table.

It gets better and better (Don’t just read the headline. The detail is excellent)

Fucking blotto. Dressed to the nines and driving about in a PVC black mini-skirt, only to crash and have to be picked up dressed like that by his old man.

I’m surprised his old fella didn’t kill him when he got back hone

Grant Shapps has pulled out of the race. The best you might say about him is that he’s the world’s most lethargic stalking horse and needs a trip to the knacker’s yards.

He has thrown his support behind Rishi. I’m sure Sunak must be gutted at his endorsement.

This Kemi Badenoch seems to be going well - particularly with the membership

Anyone noticed that if it comes down to Sunak v Moundant, we have a real South Coast derby. Sunak is a Saints fan, Mourdant a Skate.

And then there were eight.

Kemi Badenoch
Suella Braverman
Jeremy Hunt
Penny Mordaunt
Rishi Sunak
Liz Truss
Tom Tugendhat
Nadhim Zahawi

Apparently, Suella Braverman’s actual given name is Sue Ellen. So she’s deliberately styled it so that it rhymes with Cruella. That’s effort.

So Johnson, defying all precedent, is refusing to allow a no confidence vote. I thought he wasn’t going to interfere in the running of government business? Confirmation, if any more were needed, that we truly are a Banana Republic. Without the bananas.
Why is he so desperate to remain in office, and why is it being allowed? It’s not remotely like May’s, or Blair’s, even Cameron’s resignations and orderly exits, he hasn’t resigned for usual reasons, he’s been kicked out in disgrace for being a pathological lying, corrupt, incompetent criminal, totally without any morals whatsoever. Yet he’s still there, without the word resign even passing his lips.
He can do an awful lot of damage to this country and it’s reputation,(what’s left of it) in the world in two months. Who knows what he’s got planned, one things for sure, it won’t include him going quietly. I bet that shredder in Downing St is working overtime.

He needs time to make his Boris super-weapon and unleash it to retain power.

The latest invention is the V3 Buffoonbug, an unmanned Boris which drops bullshit over a wide area and leaves behind several pregnancies in the posh part of town.

One thing to consider is that we are coming into the recess - he can do very little without Parliament and even he starts to go rogue the party will no doubt step in

By denying the vote he has perhaps done the first selfless thing of his premiership- by taking the flack he has taken away the need for the Tories to vote down the motion which has spiked Kiers guns.

And don’t for one minute think this vote was proposed out of some Noble cause. This is electioneering pure and simple

I don’t see that as a problem. Is it?

No - but Labour are giving it ā€œthe Tories are thinking about themselves and not the countryā€ whilst thinking about themselves and not the country - just highlighting the hypocrisy of this move

Tbf They’re all as hypocritical as each other imho
