True, although there would be a whole load of squawking about right wing media conspiracies from their supporters.
Ultimately there is a very vocal minority on both sides of the political spectrum who have been given a platform to make themselves heard on social media. The majority of the electorate hold their peace and wait for the next election to voice their opinion.
There really does seem to be a nasty edge to politics at the moment.
There already is a lot of squawking about how this story has failed to make the news, despite Lucy Allanās best efforts.
Given the fact that we both think that this a serious issue, Iām somewhat surprised to see you emulate the tried-and-utterly-fucking-failed approach that Allan is digging to Australia with.
Those people on social media didnāt come from nowhere and they are not reacting to nothing. By falling into her narrative, youāre letting her off on her terms.
And yet we both know that if it had happened to either of us, both of us would be fucking livid and saying that she is unfit to represent us.
Donāt for a minute think I am swallowing the āitās not me, itās everyone elseā claptrap. Those people on social media have always been there - always will be. Whatever the subject, whatever the offence given or taken, there will be those who, in my opinion, go too far - there was an example in that facebook quote - Gary White who called Allan " a piece of shit" - nice.
If she had pubically misquoted me in that manner, I would have been angry, however, I probably wouldnāt engage anyone with that profile in a twitter debate - talking to you on here is about my limit
I think itās important to get a wider sense of the comments instead of focusing on just one. Thatās pretty much what sheās up to, trying to narrow the argument to what she feels she can defend, and of course, defending oneself from perceived vitriolic abuse falls into that category.
However, as weāve proved, while the vast majority is criticism, it is entirely fair game. The existence of a couple of people going too far should not be conflated with the criticism as a whole.
In our end of year awards, I assume we donāt have one for āmost posts by the same poster on a single threadā, as its no contest? #ocdcansneakuponyou
Iām overcompensating for all the lifelong Labour supporters over on TSW, who are presently too busy having a go at Corbyn to have a pop at the Tories.
Slap on wrist followed by announcement that she will not stand at next election. (either through choice or deselection). She wonāt resign nor will she be forced to (although she might lose the whip). After all if Eric Joyce can hold onto his seat after being guilty of smacking someone in the commons bar, this will be water under the bridge.
A Tory MP heaped praise on the e-cigarette industry at PMQs today - but didnāt mention heād been treated to a lavish day out by a global vaping giant.
Conservative Mark Pawsey enjoyed more than £1,600 worth of hospitality at a Rugby World Cup match in September, with Japan Tobacco International (JTI) picking up the tab.

Mr Pawsey logged the costly gift on the Register of Membersā Interests, but failed to declare it to the House of Commons ahead of his question.
Commons rules state Members must declare any ārelevant pecuniary interest or benefit of whatever natureā before asking questions in the House.
We have a Prime Minister who fucked the mouth of a dead pig and yet this receives less press than the ex leader of the opposition struggling to put bits of dead pig in his mouth.

_A Home Office statement revealed that central Government funding for Britainās 43 police forces is being cut by 2.3 per cent a year ā around Ā£41m. _
This flies in the face of George Osborneās pledge at last monthās Spending Review, when he said: āThe police protect us so we will protect the police,ā announcing there would beno cuts _to the policing budget. _
Why should voters believe any promises that are made to them?
Fuckās sake. The likes of David Davis must plunge their heads into their hands when they read about this. Itās as if weāve found the personification of all the worst tags applied to the Conservative Party in one handy MP for Telford.
