šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡¦ The War/Invasion in/of Ukraine

I had to go and open my big gob! :man_facepalming:

Yes using illegal weaponry and reducing cities to rubble, good one.

I dunno about that. The dosh could have come from one of his oligarch mates, who’d made off with $5.5 billion, was effectively exiled for a couple of years, then rocked back into Ukraine the day after Zelensky was elected.

Even so, you’ve had Biden up to his balls in this (it may yet destroy his Presidency), a coup involving the CIA and Neo-Nazis, and a sudden committment to join NATO strong enough to put it in their constitution. If that doesn’t ring client state I don’t know what does, and if they’re not paying Zelensky, who exactly are they paying?

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck.

Why can’t you Pap and others on here like Putin accept Ukraine’s sovereignty? Why can’t you accept a nations right to choose?

Why can you think there is one side in the situation and it’s the side you’ve chosen.

I don’t side with Putin by any stretch of the imagination but I also have a very healthy disregard to a lot of shit being peddled as truth by the media/social media.

You seem blinkered and appear to automatically kick back at anything you don’t approve of.

I’m fine with Ukraine being a sovereign country making its own decisions.

I didn’t start a coup when it made a decision I didn’t like. For that, you need Victoria Nuland, Joe Biden and his CIA pals.

I’d very much Ukraine to be returned to its pre-2014 status when it was making its own decisions. Unfortunately, the events that have transpired during and after the coup make that prospect impossible.

What is this coup?
Why did an uprising happen?
A puppet went back on a deal.
Also elections have taken place since then (only 1.6% voted for a far right party).

The coup of 2014 which saw the creation of the client state you call Ukraine.

Btw, I accept that public uprisings do happen. However, I’ve been on enough public demos to know full well that agent provocateurs do exist.

What happened with Maidan, if perpetrated by the Ukrainian state, is absolutely the worst fucking thing they’d want to do in that circumstance, which makes you wonder why they did it.

The fact that you have Victoria ā€œfuck the EUā€ Nuland, the CIA and Ukrainians neo-nazis in or about Kiev makes me think that this is not a natural event, and to be quite honest, makes me wonder who shot the protestors.

The Oliver Stone documentaries have some very interesting bits on this - especially Revealing Ukraine.

Pap, I know geo politics, politics, current affairs and genuine news aren’t your thing but the vast majority of Ukrainians aren’t neo nazi, more reside in Russia, Russia has also acted like nazis, annexed, invaded and murdered.
No spin, whataboutery and ignorance can distract from that, you’re on the wrong side of history.

There’s some bat-shit-crazy comments surfacing on here.

This might help bring a bit of reality back to everyday life

Please stop with your strawman stuff. I have never said, at any point, that neo-Nazis constitute the majority of Ukrainians.

I just think that many that were involved in the sharp end of the Maidan coup and in the persecution of the Donbass

The US are perfectly fine working with Nazis.

Pap of you’re going to be the great defender of Donbas spell it correctly.
Either you want a democratic progressive Ukraine or you don’t, Russia aren’t helping it move forward, they want to keep them behind like they are.

To spell it correctly he’d need to use Cyrillic and even then there’s potential for disagreement.

Donbass derives from the Russian spelling which has two cc’s at the end. Donbas derives from the Ukrainian spelling which has only one c.

Given the current and likely future political situation in the area I’d say Pap has it right.

He should stop spelling it Kiev then after the poor Russian armies showing.

Sorry Barry, what was that?

Hmm. No wonder Zelensky looks like a terrified animal most of the time.

He’s had practice.

Did like your response to the Twatter post on the thread about removing .RU suffixes from t’internet. :joy:

So Zelensky reckons that unless more weapons are sent to Ukraine, a bloodbath will continue indefinitely.

How does that work then? Surely one side not being armed in a conflict is going to bring a pretty decisive end to it.

Careful, you’ll be accused of being a Putin nosher if you aren’t careful
