Yes, absolutely, he shows how Ukraine massively increased indiscriminate bombings in the Donbass in the days leading up to the invasion in order to deliberately provoke Russia:
In fact, as early as February 16, Joe Biden knew that the Ukrainians had begun shelling the civilian population of Donbass, putting Vladimir Putin in front of a difficult choice: to help Donbass militarily and create an international problem, or to stand by and watch the Russian-speaking people of Donbass being crushed.
If he decided to intervene, Putin could invoke the international obligation of âResponsibility To Protectâ (R2P). But he knew that whatever its nature or scale, the intervention would trigger a storm of sanctions. Therefore, whether Russian intervention were limited to the Donbass or went further to put pressure on the West for the status of the Ukraine, the price to pay would be the same. This is what he explained in his speech on February 21.
I have had a read of the daily reports that the OSCE produce and there a couple of important points to consider
The ceasefire violations reported in that table do not ascribe the violation to any particular side - therefore the perpetrators could equally be the Russian backed separatists as it could be Ukranian forces.
The second issue with the conclusion being drawn from that table is we are not witnessing an escalation - more a resumption of business as usual which you can see if you look at earlier dates.
In fact the OSCE report that there was a 80% decrease in violations around that time
What earlier dates were you looking at and what data?
I just checked the daily reports going back to 1st September 2021 there were no dates where the number of explosions get anywhere near what was witnessed on 18th Feb onwards. For the vast majority of days there were less than 100 explosions. There was one day I think where it got close to the numbers on 16th Feb i.e around 250.
Thatâs a reasonable point, but it doesnât mean that the information is not known.
Whataboutery, no bombing in Donbas would have happened if the Russians didnât copy the nazis warfare codebook like the Sudetenland. Get out of Ukraine, time to go home.
Ah yes, Barry. If you look at history there were PLENTY of Nazis in Russia from 1941-1943. They were just actual Nazis
Still, it amuses me to know that you spend your evenings pulling up fifteen years olds are a great example of how Russia, the #1 destroyer of Nazis, is Nazi
In the meantime, timeâs running out for the Neo-Nazis down by the Sea of Azov.
Do you reckon itâs true, or do you think itâs just more bollocks out of Zelenskyâs mouth aimed at pulling others into the quagmire heâs been paid $1.6 billion for?
