That’s true…but I’m judging it solely on musical merit alone…I carry no baggage apart from my huge intellect.

In what can only be a sign from Gods, Mrs Fatso has also been drawn Japan in her work sweepstake. We will sit together and cheer Yoshi on (although she won’t because she has no interest in football and tried to give Japan to her friend who was upset she didn’t get it)
As I missed out on this sweepstake I joined the one at work. I have Senegal and Costa Rica. I’m guessing that’s not amazing. Still not sure it will make me watch any.
Senegal were being described as a potential surprise package today on the radio. Costa Rica will just be shit.

I have followed the trend and updated my avatar according to the merits of the situation.
I toyed with Khomenei out of respect for ms @cb-saint , but I had to go with Mossadegh. He got fucked over by a good deal of the world. I fear his modern day compatriots will suffer the same fate in Russia.

In our work sweepstake, done between eight of us in my office, we split the teams into three lots according to FIFA ranking - the eight top-ranked, the next eight, then the rest. On that basis, I have drawn Portugal, Columbia, Costa Rica and Japan. Oddly, Poland have a higher ranking than Spain, putting the former in the first pot and the latter in the second. My colleague who drew Poland from the first pot was less than impressed.
