šŸ¦‡ The sci-fi, fantasy and capeshit thread

Two shows to report on, both on Amazon.

The Boys. Slow burning this year. I really like the Seven on the verge of becoming public super villains to an extent where even the Trumpians notice.

Something I wasn’t expecting that much from was Fallout, which was very good.

Agreed.

I think the producers are Democrats tbh

Acolyte is really ending on a high. It is ultimately a show about the consequences of one event in the past, constantly referenced but never fully explained

Until now.

This week’s episode was 100 percent flashback, focusing entirely on that fateful day.

And it was excellent. I feel like re-watching the first six episodes with this context in my brain

Fair play to Disney for taking a risk on this one. It’s set 100 years before the prequels. They’re relying, so far, on all new characters.

But I would not be surprised to be introduced to Darth Plagueis in the finale.

Some time back I mentioned that The Ark was not shit.
S1 had Dr Who 1980s quality sets and acting that was never winning any awards.

But what it did have was a good SciFi base story with some decent human interest and political twists.
I enjoyed it and was surprised when, after a classic Season ending cliff hanger it hot renewed.

S2 is now streaming. Ep1 opens well and if Im honest is a step up from S1. And so far my rating is ā€œim enjoying itā€

This is never gonna be The Expanse level but it is good TV.

And a surprising not shit (50%) rotten tomatoes rating.

Kaos next and if I get bored the Termina6Cartoon thibg

I miss The Expanse :lou_sad:

By the time you reach my age it won’t be a series…

Been looking forward to this :lou_smiley:

The Rings of Power S2 is on Prime.
Ā£1 billion for 5 seasons.
It is epic, it is grand.
And?
Nobody cares
So ehow they missed the fact they needed to play to an audience

If you read no marketing or reviews, the 1st 17 minutes of Agatha all along is Fargo, True Detective or Mayor of Eastwick

Except, where did I hear of Westview

20 odd minutes nothing much more

This is a new Marvel TV Show. Like all tgeir stuff it comes from something else.

But this is good shit.

Me like

22 minutes …

Strangely compelling

Aha seems Deadpool x Wolverine has appeared on your favourite streaming service…

Dune Prophecy should be dropping on Sky Stlantic for you.

This is a Grand Canvas. It speaks of a time 10,000+ years before the film (about when @Lets-B-Drinking last went to the cinema to see Sting.

It starts at the end of Terminator (or something) and moves swiftly on to Game of Thrones without Dragons but burnings.

All the reports say it is not Dune - duh - but it is a story, carried by Emma Watson and a ā€œconfusedā€ Mark Strong.

I am sure Dune nerds will be dampening bed sheets, but I am watching something well made that is slightly better than Not Shit and in Grand Canvas terms not as ā€œwho cares?ā€ as Rings of Power

I’m a Dune nerd and have been excited for this, however I am currently having to watch a bunch of no-marks lounging about in ā€˜the jungle’ because when the missus is in the house I’m not allowed to watch my ā€˜stupid space stuff’ :lou_sad:

I’m currently swamped.
Dune Prophecy - because
Lioness - because it’s bloody great
Umbrella Academy S4 - because it’s all wrong and complicated and complete shit and fucking genius and hard work
And then bloody Eddie - WHERE IS EPISODE 6 FFS

And that’s all before I try and get back into Cobra Kai

She’s got the right of it tbf

But the strictly jungle master chef drag racing on ice is best avoided

I want dragons and her tits

Dune had packaged but visiblectits and some wanton burning

Can someone, who understands gibberish, please translate.
