You’re not supposed to understand ANY of this, it’s The sci-fi, fantasy and capeshit thread.

Visible tits….with an extra consonant thrown in for free.

Are you sure it wasn’t ā€œvisible clitsā€

Bewbs
There were Bewbs
In the night club scene

FFS

(Obviously in the modern era it was impossible to allocate any pronouns to the bewbs)

See Phil’s post after yours

Star Treks. Lower Decks has remained a joy, now well into its final season.
Logically it has to end, because nobody can stay below decks forever, eventually (as in the show) they reach minion level on The Bridge.
The love, Lore, mending of and extending of canon has been superb ( a couple of only good episodes but the Orbs v Cubes was classic Trek yet stupidly cleverly enjoyable.
It has had a running ā€œfissureā€ to another ā€œmultiverseā€ that has re-occurred and popped up in this weeks’ episode.
Which was a joy and homage to many other Trek (and SciFi shows) and Oh    no spoilers

And then there is Star Wars. Always felt it was glued to the same formula, same structure, same baddies in bad hats and Stormtroopers, Andor was good, Mando was good but still glued to the formula visually.

And now we have 3 kids and a Blue Baby Elephant.
WTF was Disney thinking?
Space Pirates? Bad Capn’ Jack Sparrow accents? In Space?

Oh, finally, new planetary visuals, Seattle in a few years maybe? New Aliens. New Space Ships, Spaceports cut straight from S1 of The Expanse (or maybe Guardians of the Galay

It’s kid stuff (but then so is Star Trek Prodigy which has Janeway & Chakotay)
Visually a new joy.
Kids are annoying but Jude Law is in it playing his Captain Marvel bit to the hilt
2 episodes in - it is yoof but it is not shit, it could actually paint the backdrop to a new, proper Star Wars Universe that is not a random sandy planet

But it was shit imho. Gave up early on tbh. Just don’t like cartoons as I get older I guess (fallen out of love with The Simpsons and South Park too)

Thought the Strange New Worlds mash up was great though.

Still it’s personal taste :man_shrugging:

Understand not liking cartoons.
I held the same opinion and refused to watch The Animated Series for maybe 30 + years.

What I have learned is how it’s really about the stories especially now Animated Series is real canon.

Lower Decks has so many moments of Trek love through its 5 years, and, as you mentioned the crossover, one glorious mini scene this week where a nurse hands the Doc a tray of Hyposprays that she had created

ā€œTo cure the virus that makes everyone singā€ā€¦

One of so many

I’ve been catching up with a few movies from this year and middle-aged man-child that I am, sat and watched Transformers One. Didn’t even know it existed so had no expectations going in. Didn’t even know the premise of the plot.

If you are one of the GenX-ers traumatised by the death of Optimus Prime in the cartoon movie, this is probably the closure you need. There are no humans in this movie. Instead of killing off both Megatron and Optimus Prime, the film focuses on their ā€œbirthā€.

It’s surprisingly decent, with the pair starting off as mates, humble worker robots, who stumble onto a massive revelation. Watching D-16’s heel turn into Megatron is a bit tragic in a good way. Seeing Orion Pax evolve and transform over the movie into Prime is very satisfying too.

Peter Cullen is not voicing Prime in this film. Chris Hemsworth takes the reins and does a very good job. Well recommended if you’re still interested in such childish pursuits. I think this is better than my previous fave Bumblebee. What unites the two films is that you can see what the fuck is going on.

Wait.
WHY?

Hang on a WHAT?

Hmmmmm

OK, I’m intrigued

I’ve watched the Superman trailer a couple of times and am very excited.

Gunn has got a solid track record in the super-hero genre. Everything he has done has been good, be it Guardians, The Suicide Squad or Peacemaker.

I watched a recent interview where he said that the world had never seen a proper Silver Age sci-fi Superman, so I guess this is what we’re getting. Krypto is perhaps proof of that.

Also spotted Hawkgirl, one of my favourite characters from the Justice League series in the mix.

I like that even though it is a reboot the theme music core is so recognisable.
That made the trailer intriguing

Aye, I am quite excited for it

He is obviously a big fan of comics in general, one of his earlier efforts ā€˜Super’ is still one of my favourite films.

Well, that also got my attention…
Nice tech/marketing

I expect the Gunn take on the DC universe to be fucking bananas if what I am seeing in Creature Commandos is any indication. It’s adult animation, much in the vein of Invincible, and it’s canon.

What happens here will be respected elsewhere. And what happens here is fucking bananas.

The premise is that after the escapades of The Suicide Squad, governments are banned from hiring human criminals for covert ops.

So the government, naturally, decides to form a super team out of non-human criminals too, one of which is the Bride of Frankenstein.

I don’t think James is going to be gunning for realism in the the DCEU.

BBC4 now prob IPlayer
1069 Dr Who:War Games.
Patrick Troughton, Zoe & Jamie re-edited (lol wait for it) and colourised (very well)
A real step back in time and some moments -surely Rowan Atkinson watched this before writing that Blackadder WW! moment?

Was the last of Patricks’ era (damn what a bad wig) and ended with a 1st evver view of his regeneration as Jon Pertwee.

Mpst enjoyable I’m sure the Xmas day woke special will be fine

Andor was excellent
Season 2 is coming soon.

But Disney have truly lost the plot.

$600m for 2 seasons of a TV show?

Skeleton Crew which is great vost $130m+

Madness

So I am quite caught up with the Matthew Reeves version of Batman.

I think I fell asleep watching The Batman the first time out, but after hearing good things about The Penguin, thought I’d watch both.

It’s very good stuff. Not sure how long it’ll go on as I don’t see this version of Batman fitting into what seems to be the new DCU.
