šŸ¦‡ The sci-fi, fantasy and capeshit thread

I heard years ago that the only people making screens were Samsung, Panasonic and Philips.

Are you making screens, @Polski_Filip?

I wish

One thing that annoys me is the lack of delay when they’re having live conversations… millions of miles from earth and they’re having real time conversations :man_shrugging:

And then, suddenly, when there’s danger they have a transmission delay FFS

The Orville continues to surprise.
Last week (amongst much other Sci_Fi it managed to hit a home run in the Roe v Wade controversy). Achingly painfully done.
This week it went to new levels regarding Time Travel. and it’s consequences.
Even managed a small LGBTQ question as well. In an episode that had some genuinely funny and very geeky Sci-Fi moments as well.

Seth McFarlane isn’t perfect but he is doing a damn fine job of spending his extra budget with his TOS episodic story telling and putting a real slant on current issues.

Clever stuff and hasn’t (yet) gone too far.

I am a sceptic when it comes to reviving franchises.
Couldn’t see a reason for bringing back the Matrix and while not shit I was proved right.
I couldn’t see why it how Jurassic whatever could come back after it all blew up.

I was wrong.
Jurassic Park Dominion has many faults, and as Mrs P_F said, for the 1st half was NOT Jurassic Park.
And then.

So yes faults, plot holes, but a great cast and
Yes. I really enjoyed it.
Spoiler Alert

The movie contains Dinosaurs.

(Can’t believe how lucky I was back in February not to get eaten by a T-Rex while I was in Malta)

Just finished watching the final episode of this season’s The Boys.

Very satisfied. The theme al along is ā€œwhat happens if your heroes turn out to be villains?ā€

It works multiple ways. The third season is much less explosive than the second. You might even call it a setup season, but you could equally label it an establishing season.

Still only on Ep5 S1 of the Boyz

Are you making a Mix Tape?
So many levels to such a simple line these days

Umbrella Academy S2 was a real tough watch but I stayed with it.
Payback is the new S3

I’ve been watching the Netflix remake of the fantasy anime ā€œBastardā€. It’s about Wizards, in a post apocalyptic heavy metal inspired world of demons and swords. The dialog is turgid and the plot nonsensical. What makes it stand out is the size of every female characters breasts and a Jimmy savilleesque disregard for what is appropriate. It’s probably the most politically incorrect thing I’ve seen in a long time and I’m quite shocked that it’s been remade for Western mainstream consumption in the 21st century but at the same time its refreshing to see something that bucks the trend.

You should play Dead or Alive on the original Playstation. It is actually a pretty good fighter for the day, but it was infamous for having female protagonists with big bouncing baps.

The series continues into the modern age. The dev team has (ahem) not lost their focus.

I hope you appreciated this post. I had to type ā€œDead or Alive Boobsā€ into YouTube as a search parameter. I’m going to get targeted advertising from necrophilia sites for the next few weeks.
