šŸ¦‡ The sci-fi, fantasy and capeshit thread

Ffs.
So much to watch.
So little time…

You could try cutting some of the shit out of your diet!

Then how could I be myself if I’m not full of shit?

Currently watching.
Strange New Worlds
Strange New Worlds (catch up for Mrs P_F)
Kenobi
The Boys
The Orville
The local News (as Mrs P_F insists plus it keeps me up to date)

Now add The Umbrella Academy

Waiting for a gap to watch Snakehead, Jurassic World Dominion & Dr Strange.

So yeah I could drop the Boys as I am offended by it now I’ve dis6Homelander was based on Trump

Just watched Ep.1

Opening Footloose dance-off was glorious.

Please tell me you watched Stranger Things 1st

But glad you lot stuck with Umbrella Academy, think it was @Intiniki who got me into that

Haven’t even watch the 1st episode. As you said too many things, too little time (I paraphrase but you know what I mean(

Yes.
But I need them NOW!

Finished Obi-Wan. Possibly enjoyed it more than you lot because I only started watching after most episodes were out and only had to wait for the finale.

You’ll have to forgive me for being Star-crossed, but it’s basically the opposite of Star Trek : Into Darkness. That film was shit and treated what came before it as shit. Not only was this not shit, but it also makes the prequels look better.

Had the proper feels by the finale.

One last point. Darth Vader in A New Hope has got to be the most disappointed man ever. He’s had a number of fights with the bloke, mostly lost and get severely fucked up that one time.

Imagine finally laying a glove on Obi Wan and the bloke just disappearing into thin air.

One thing that did get me marking in Obi Wan Kenobi was the absolute brightness of the lightsabres and the new clashing noises they made.

Maybe it’s because I got hold of HDR copies but the light sabres were really, really good

I’ve got a Disney Plus subscription so watched it in full Dolby Atmos Bollocks. HDR is probably the best upgrade since HD in my opinion. Everything looks excellent - booting up Forza 4, a game I had already invested some time in, and seeing those sunbeams burst through the trees was something akin to a religious experience.

As an added bonus, you can finally see ā€œThe Long Nightā€ in Game of Thrones.

Kenobi was rubbish.
Bullshit lazy writing.
I mean COME ON!
He’s in it and yet there are no Albanian Gangsters & his family isn’t kidnapped.
Pah!

I actually think it’s my favourite. Had a lot more going on emotionally and did a shitload of interesting stuff with characters that are fully plot armoured. We know that Ben, Darth and Leia survive until a New Hope.

So does Alderaan actually, but not beyond.

Watching some classic Doctor Who. My brain is deceptive enough to allow me to ignore all the shit sets and such like, especially when the acting is mostly decent. However, there is a fuckload of milling about in corridors, etc.

I’m watching the very first series and am in the middle of the very first appearance of the Daleks.

Daleks are bastards.

Just you wait. Peter Pervert from Blue Peter will be along in a few episodes time.

For All Mankind S3 Ep 4 is absolutely brilliant.

After "setting the scene, it addresses a whole bunch of deep issues AND does ā€œSpaceā€ brilliantly.

Then it does more.

It is quite simply a brilliant TV Show and as Sci-Fi is getting towards The Expanse levels.

S3 Ep 3 The Orville.
I’ve mentioned that The Orville started as a homage/parody of Trek. S3 had gotten more serious, (Androids, Electric Sleep. Ep 3 again went to another level. This is becoming a very serious show, hell Seth Rogan is even trying to get to Anson Mount levels of hairstyle. It now mixes a TNG tech vive with TOS feel to a modern moral take in the stories.
A no spoiler comparison? It does a TOS thing on Roe v Wade on Klingon REALLY cleverly.

What a time to be a Sci-Fi fan so much to watch and all VERY good.
