Sotonians favourite ScFi show, named after my post lockdown waistline returns in December

Excellent- was only just saying to Mrs C_S that it was about time another series was released :+1:

@Polski_Filip is right. It is my favourite and apart from the fourth season, I’ve seen it all twice. It’s got that much density that you’re guaranteed to pick up on it.

The characters are so decent that my favourites aren’t even on the main crew. Chrisjen Avasarala and Bobbie Draper. Man sandwich? Oh yeah. Even better would be to have a go on Bobbie with Chrisjen in the room telling me I’m doing it wrong *

* I may not be entirely driven by narrative motives.

That would be interesting given that she is probably twice your height…

Now that is just wrong but it would more likely be “fucking hell Pap, you’re fucking not fucking her fucking properly”

Oh.
If only someone had mentioned the family drama bit was not hitting the spot.
Away has gone away.

Talking of family drama.
Wrapped up S3 of Colony.
It dribbled out.
The story, the concept, the post first contact stuff all rocked. The slow burn reveal stuff all rocked.
What didnt rock was the dumb bitch doing everything to bring her family together. All the damned time.
In the very last episode War is going down, doom & destruction are about to rain down and CUT! a 5 minute monologue on how she is going to bring the family back together and lead a normal life.

So. The moral of the story is SciFi is about SCIENCE FICTION. It is not about repeating bad episodes of Eastenders every episode. Sub-plot sure. Main plot = fail

Something that Doctor Who could learn a lot from…

Are there actually any good episodes of Eastenders? Asking for a friend.

Have they not had “the very last one” yet that should be good.

If this gets made it should be excellent, really good books.

Ooh.

Bloody hell.
That is possibly the best 54 minutes of Star Wars I’ve seen.

Epic cinematography, and for a TV show.

A week after Discovery had a Western feel The Mandalorian gave us The Magnificent 7 plus plus.

The Mandalorian has started season 2 in stunning fashion.
Even Mrs P_F (who didnt watch any of S1) went Wow

I call that episode the Mando-Jaws-ian.

It’s Jaws in a desert.

Nah, I thought it was the new Dune with teeth

Didn’t the sand worms in Dune famously look shit?

This really didn’t.

You IDIOTS!
How could we not notice The Mandalorian is in Chapters, this week is Chapter 10.

So last week was.

Mando #9.

Meanwhile it is clearly a space western. The ship bumbles around with a passenger with special powers, doing odd jobs. There is some not good Imperial thing. Even the spaceship is recognisable.
It’s just a remake of

Firefly.

Chapter 10 review later but the opening scene jetpack bit is epic

Saw it. Really enjoyed it. Forgot to mention it.

Bottle episode mostly, although I did like the conceit that the bottle kept on getting smaller and smaller.

They’d obviously spent a big part of their budget on the opener.

Shades of Starship Troopers bugs in tunnels, as well as a bunch of Easter Eggs.
Did like the Ice World version of the Death Star canyon.

Again very enjoyable, it is almost Trek esque, individual drop down to a planet episodes.

“I don’t talk Frog”

Classic in so many ways

I’ll have to watch it again but the spiders reminded me of the creatures from Star Wars Rebels Season 3, when the Rebels are based on Atollon

They are
Apparently called Killik or something

Not surprisingly Umbrella Academy renewed for S3.

Really tough 1st series but after you get about 2/3 through it is a great show
