Indeed. Plus there’s the added difficulty of who they’re going to attract as their new manager. At least when Cortese binned off Nige he had Wanky McWankstain lined up to replace him (well, not so much lined up as hiding behind the curtains, waiting for Adkins to leave).
Who do Watford think they’re going to get who’ll be better than Flores?
Yeah, I liked Flores. Being from near Watford, I know a few Watford fans. They are mostly a bit confused, but not overly surprised by the decision - this is pretty much their model.
Sounds as though Walter Mazzarri will be taking over, was apparently seen at the training ground today.
Its no secret athat Fergie mentors practically all managers, not just in the BPL. Loads of interviews have mentioned the first call a manager got upon being sacked was from him.
Not a huge fan of him but respect for the pastoral care he gives to his colleagues. He clearly loves the game.
Presumably it was a meeting where both parties needed an interpreter
Louis van Gaal’s fate as Manchester United manager is set to sealed on Monday, with the club’s American owners due to rubber-stamp his departure – two days after winning the FA Cup at Wembley.
Jose Mourinho, the former Chelsea, Real Madrid and Inter Milan coach, is set to take charge at Old Trafford on a three-year deal, but Van Gaal’s exit has still to be confirmed by the club.
I’ve heard some pundits speculate on the reason for Flores’ departure from Watford. A theory which makes sense is that his ambition didn’t suit the business model of the club, which is to sell on decent players for a profit. The owners do the same thing with Udinese, another club they own.
The new bloke won 48.9% of his games over a long period at Napoli. I expect that stability is what they’re after.
Think Louis Van Gaal will be gone tomorrow and ‘the special one’ will come in. I really do not think this is a good move for Man U and they would be better of keeping LVG.
Not that I give a stuff if Man U are about to screw things up again, I can handle that.
Ok I know Brendon was sacked a while ago. I do seem to remembering saying his family were huge Liverpool fans and he has always loved the club. He seems to be saying the same at the Celtic press conference!
Mirror reporting RK is to sign a new 2 year deal, with pay going up from 2m to 2.5m per year. As Les said yesterday that they are still talking about the club ambition etc I suspect this story is a bit made up. Plus I hope we get 3 years.
