šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡¦ šŸ’£ The new Ukraine thread

They do have a very solid reputation for committing atrocities against civilians tbf - take a gander at their ā€œworkā€ in various African states. Not pretty reading.

Is it just a few bad apples or something more endemic? I dunno, and am relying on the internet šŸ¤·šŸ¼

Well that’s PMCs in general, isn’t it?

Probably. I don’t make a habit of hiring them tbf.

(Actually, I don’t hire them at all)

Well it matters not.

I thought that the point in the abstract, that it’s morally okay to summary execute people on the basis of their employer, was rather ridiculous.

The implementation is garnish.

I wasn’t supporting that tbf

Hang on a minute, are you suggesting that world leaders aren’t actually using these pages for guidance in matters of State?? :dizzy_face::dizzy_face: Well, that’s me disillusioned. :cry:

Oh, did he leave? :thinking::smile:

Yep, only ā€œNot Barryā€ of course.

I beg to differ. :wink::grin:

I thought I told you, I’m ā€œBarry Sanchezā€ :neutral_face:

He didn’t leave though, he was ejected faster than a Bond villain’s Oriental minion through the roof of a speeding Aston Martin. :grin::grin:

Had someone from another team trying to do down one of my guys by saying they saw that he was ā€œworkingā€ in the pub and had posted on Instagram.

We went through all his posts and nothing, nada, zip.

Trouble is that ā€œstoryā€ got back to senior partners who couldn’t use Instagram if their life depended on it. I do not need this.

Still, we made the instigator look like a dick.

Going to the pub tomorrow…

I despair :weary:

Had to have a word with one of my colleagues this week. He is using an outsourcer based in Ukraine. This company is responsible for producing some fairly important stuff for me at the moment and due to the recent Russian focus on infrastructure, they’re having a lot of trouble delivering.

Matey was like ā€œthey’re in enough shit already - I don’t want to put them in moreā€. I told him the situation wasn’t tenable and that if I were away for any reason in the midst of a software launch my customers would correctly identify me as a risk.

ā€œI disagree with the not tenable partā€, he says.

ā€œWell lookā€, I reply. ā€œIf you have to say normal service will resume when a war ends, it’s not tenableā€.

Don’t know the source or it’s reliability, but interesting/worrying thread about potential escalation

Aren’t Belarus already involved?

One of our potential suppliers was from Belarus and fell off that potential list pretty quickly.
