🇺🇦 💣 The new Ukraine thread

As a staging post & training ground yes but the Gov are like Lukashenko trying to keep out of the fight.
The borderlands are not conducive to an invasion few roads dug in defence & then forests & marshes
But if his allies are being bumped off that pressure could mount by Vlads’ replacements

Stoke does not look like a bomb has hit it.

It looks like a huge giant threw a gigantic hula hoop over a few Northern towns and said, “there you go. That’s Stoke-on-Trent that is”.

Newcastle-under-Lyme is actually very picturesque.

I lived there for three long years, and frankly you’re talking bollocks.

Very much in the eye of the beholder my good man. If you’re coming from Stoke Town…

Ok, where exactly in Newcastle under Lyme is this idyllic landscape you speak of? Clayton Bank? The gruesome town centre? Possibly the hideous, seventies-modernistic Town Hall?

I was staying in a hotel and there were trees outside.

The trees are an attempt to obscure the hotel.

Or the view from it?

I’ve just realised. It means that the hotel is dog-friendly. :dog2:

Merkel openly admitted that the Minsk process was a complete sham the other day, intended only to buy time for the Ukrainians to build their army. Now the Russians are considering legal action against the French and Germans for reparations to the Donbass.

Obviously it’s tit for tat over the ludicrous idea that Russia should pay reparations to Ukraine but I found it funny in any case.

I initially took Merkel’s statements at face value but I’ve listened to some analysis since which has convinced me that she was probably arse covering here in order in order to portray herself as historically more anti Russia than she really was. Hence why Putin made a big point about how surprised he was at her comments. If she really thought Minsk would never happen she would never have gone through with the Nordstream projects.

That reads like a tale of fiction - there is bugger all evidence

It relies of the the premise that the US had navy divers and they politically they were disagreed with the pipeline ergo they did it

That like me saying that Nathan Jones doesn’t want to be relegated and we now have a striker ergo we are staying up

Journalist with a good rep though.

Who else would want to blow up the pipeline?

There’s probably a Netflix film in production as we speak.
