It is still under investigation, but it is most likely an S300 Air Defence missile that went astray OR was knocked off trajectory. And, as most are saying, wouldn’t have happened if there weren’t over 100 Russian Missiles & Drones in the air.

Here’s a thought. Watched a YouTube video about Russian population, and interestingly their population has been falling for decades.
Putin in the last few years was offering Russian women something like 8,000 dollars (or rubles?) to have a second/third child.
Tens of thousands of Ukrainians, Estonians, Chechens, Georgians etc have been forcibly relocated to Russia - as well as many thousands of children from Donbas region.
There are plans to take “problem” teenagers from Donbas to Chechnya for “re-education”!
Is one of the reasons for these wars Russia gets involved in to steal people?
Bit of a backfire when up to a million young people have either been killed in the war or left the country because of it.

There seems to be a double standard at play here. When the foreign mercenaries were caught and sentenced to death by one of the breakaway republic authorities, people were outraged.
Since then, those prisoners have all been swapped in diplomatic deals.
What’s the differentiator that makes it okay if someone just gets a shot to the back of the head, doesn’t get the opportunity for life that the other mercenaries did?
I think summary execution is a war crime irrespective of who their boss is. International law agrees.
