😃 The Little Pleasures of Everyday Life

Context.
In 9 months here I have found Stilton once.
Sell by date was 19th December. 220g wedges.
By freezing I now have 3 months supply.
Thawing must be done in the fridge for 24 hours.

Needs must.

Cheddar also freezes well again Vintage is hard to find here and when I do it’s only way.

Dont worry. Post Brexit when the supermarkets run out of food, you’ll learn

Phil, They dont appear to understand that as an ex pat British food is at a premium price.
We pay it because we want some of the memories of home but and its a big but some delacacies from the UK are not available we make do with what our country of residence has. What are the population of the United Kingdom going to do when they have no HP sauce as its embargoed and made in the Netherlands?

i have a store in town that does “foreign stuff” but it really is hit and miss as to what they have in. I try and keep 2-3 months stock of basics, back in the sandpit, Branston wasn’t available for 6 months once upon a time.

To be fair to Lidl the Stilton was cheap compared even to say Tesco in UK and was a bloody good one. But, once it s gone doubt I will see anymore.
Equally, after Brexit, Customs / Duty Free rules will change. No foodstuffs will be permitted to be carried. Will end up having to make our own British Sausages ffs.

Just seen weather forecast for tomorrow.
Same as all week. Freezing Fog lifting from 11:30am.
So we can only leave home for an outdoor day with Grandson.
About 12 Noon.

Which is of course the same time the Egg Chasing will finish.
Phew

I like frangipani, bougainvillea and there are these tiny little pink and yellow ones I like. All grow in tropical climes whilst I live in cold UK.100% I was born in the wrong climate.
