😃 The Little Pleasures of Everyday Life

High time I gave LitSL a little competition. So here’s Ollie, a couple of weeks ago, photographed by my stepdaughter. Since then he’s had a haircut and looks like a different dog.

Nope, Ollie only ever wears Wayfarers.

Also chews through your data as it doesn’t cache maps

Watching my Glasto buddy’s son & his BFF put up tents they’ve just bought.
They’d never put one up before

(Yeah they’re blasting properly)

May need duct tape for my sides

Bumping into an old colleague from soton when at the services near Stonehenge.

Opening a cupboard in the van & finding 12 cans of cider for an emergency AND a fully charged leisure battery so we can charge phones

I’m in countdown mode already - 12th July to 1st August holiday- can’t come soon enough.

Cramming in Madeira, The Waterside and decorating the hallway courtesy of Farrow & Ball.

Ain’t gonna be cheap but as Jim Steinman / Meatloaf (can’t remember which) said : ā€œTwo out of three ain’t badā€ā€¦you can pick your fave two…I’m just paying for the lot

:lou_sad:

Always need an extra coat with Farrow and Ball. Shit paint. Go Little Greene

He’s not using it to cover up blood splatter so shouldnt need the extra coat @Goatboy.

Getting home and finding a parcel. Strange, can’t remember ordering anything. Open it and inside i find a pair of these.

Then remember when i got my new phone there was a freebie offer for the first thousand people that uploaded proof of purchase. I did, but expected to receive nothing. Sometimes it’s nice to be wrong

I’ve got a pair of Sony MDR-XB950N1…with noise reduction. Unfortunately it doesn’t work on Tinitus.

I have Tinitus in my left ear, plus about 80% hearing loss. Thought the Tinitus would drive me mad when i first got it, but it’s amazing how the brain deals with these things. I don’t notice it now unless i think about it(thanks for thatšŸ˜‚).
But the most amazing thing, it counters the hearing loss, so i feel like i’m hearing equally from both ears(i thought i’d never be able to use headphones again). Simply removing the right side headphone reminds me of reality, whilst making me so so thankful for the wonders and plasticity of the mind.
Headphones have stunning sound, but Sony are such knobs with the names(looks more like a code for a Swiss bank account).

Sony names…I had to look on my headphones to read the model number…haven’t a clue really but these are really nice phones if a little on the large size.

I’m a bit of a Sony nut from my Sony 1010 Amp in 1970 to my current Sony Walkman and the wireless headphones. Even my cameras are Sonys.

I’m with you on Sony, but only Walkman onwards.

I was going to ask you about this. Been thinking about getting a proper camera for a while(it’ll be Sony if they compete at the level i need, that’s part of the reason i chose this phone). Mainly for when i’m fishing, or with the daughter(we spend 90% of our time in the countryside).
I watch Kingfishers and Barn Owls quite a lot when fishing, plus other small wildlife and would love to get some decent shots(tried to film a Barn Owl capture prey 5m away on my last phone. It’s shit).
So any ideas?
I’d like something that could last if i get into it. I’m happy to upgrade lens if i do, but would like a camera that didn’t need changing if i go up a slight level. Is this possible for under Ā£500?

Have a look at this…a tad under 500 with a good range of quality lenses.

Thanks. Just wondering if i can afford it before we go on holiday. 4mph on the Broads would be a perfect time to learn.
