After the blackout I still have lights, internet. Beer fridge at the bar operational. So will be staying outside until they fix the phase that is down and the AC is available indoors.
Power is back and I have been evicted from my bedroom to be back outside by the bar.
I am not worried.
Relating to the very first post
I was sat watching the pool as per normal and the dog came up just to be tickled scatched behind his ears he enjoyed it and it made feel good.
We have a lodger.
Clean bill of health from the Vet and ate some solids and drank water this morning.
She is obviously mad, but weve had a fun morning as she explores the flat but kind of gets me to do it with her rather than doing Cat stuff and ignoring humans
She looks incredibly similar to our much loved Tiger who moved with us from Dubai and who passed during Covid. Seems to be trained but clearly hasn’t had proper food or attention.
Everything has to be hugs and cuddles
I did indeed. One of my successes as mayor was seeing this grow from a few vehicles immediately post-Covid to nearly 400 entries this year. I didn’t directly run it but worked with Rotary and fir the past two years joined the parade in a random vehicle and presented awards.
This year, no longer in an official capacity, I still enjoyed looking at all the vehicles.
Incidentally, Wem also has its Sweet Pea Festival this year, which is the most important event of its type in the country, as Henry Eckford from Wem developed mist of the modern strains of sweet pea. Saw that too, and spectacular, especially to a useless gardener.
The show folded just before I became Mayor but, working with the Town Hall Trust I resurrected it and it has 500 exhibits this year from all over Britain.
Christ, what did they say when you climbed in??
probably thought he had jacked the jewellers when they saw his chain
“it’s alright lads. I’m with the AA.”
They were deeply honored.
That’s right up there with The World Stinging Nettle Eating Championship - which is a real thing unlikely as it seems. In Darset I recall.
I like to have sweet peas with my Fish & Chips.
None of you will be surprised to hear I was given a lift in TR1. I was strolling slowly down Romsey Road, when the Mayor of Southampton pulled up and asked if I wanted a lift.
I graciously accepted.
Heathen.
Fred Woolley 1931?
Freddie Goater 1975.
A real character was our Freddie, worked in the same office…he buzzed us at the OS in a large Wessex helicopter as he flew to a function at Aldermoor Junior School.
Visiting my mate in The General this afternoon. Now out of ICU an in the Stroke Ward, fully savvy, also walked 15 feet unaided at today’s physio. Getting there but still a way to go.
Very proud of an incredibly talented grandson. This is his haul of athletics, tennis and triathlon medals this year in the U12 class. And he’s 9.
Does he steal them from the school or people’s homes?
