😃 The Little Pleasures of Everyday Life

Tbf - the bar and food bill will just edge that, but we weren’t responsible for him trying to snaffle as much cash as he can before everyone forgets about him when the next season starts.

After some considerable time since the not working water feature was turned into a pond, I can reveal that at least one bit of livestock has moved into the pond.
We have a pond snail, who we originally wanted to call Brian, but the friend who probably supplied a small Brian on some pond weed given to us, said I should really think again.
As snails are hermaphrodtic, we cannot know what gender our snail would want to be identified as.
To keep within the letter of the law, we are calling our snail (him/her/it/what the fuck) Bryony.

You could call it Leslie/Lesley.

Another evening of Proms listening with a very acceptable Beaujolais cru. A couple of nights ago we had Beethoven’s Fifth which I can’t get excited about: vastly overrated.

But tonight the Choral, that still excites every time I hear it.

(Although I have to confess seeing the translation of the words is a little unsettling: decidedly weird)

But the music is awesome.

@PhilippineSaint would know. And you lot? simply no way a Brit could begin to comprehend a nightclub where the age range on the dancefloor to something like The Prodigy would range from 21 to 61

You could grab a granny or take a tart from the same venue

Doesn’t that rule you out Phil?

That’s why I struggle with ENO

There are some great opera out there but the lyrics are usually dreadful - luckily it’s usually in foreign innit.

Jeez. That’s never happened before

Most from old Brit slappers for whom the Lodge was the only place they’d

Have a full Roast Lunch after a Full English Breakfast before a damn good Thai dinner and some Karaoke

This popped up from my on-phone collection this morning. If I had my time again I’d play less football and more piano
I love this

Eventually received my bag from Ethiopian Airways and most of the sweets an chocolates were intact.

Not heard it before. Very lively for Satie but lovely.

This album has all of his best known pieces but the others you will enjoy too. Pascal Roge is the top Satie interpreter IMO.
Satie was a true eccentric: https://www.guggenheim.org/blogs/checklist/presenting-erik-saties-18-hour-piece-vexations-at-the-guggenheim

Good news everyone
