Time have moved on.
Indeed, Minister.
Here’s one for all you office based wage slaves. You can thank me later.
That would have to go into the annoyances thread for me.
Karma is weird.
Monday I had to leave 2 bottles of Ale at the Airport
Today went out in a Blizzard to get essentials and Boom!
Last case in Lidl
Dali exhibition in Brick Lane, until 17th April.
This is fascinating, thoroughly recommend it.
Someone decided Dali wasn’t trippy enough, and thought “let’s VR that shit”
AirBnB for exclusive use of Sotonians forum members??
Anyone need a Tour Guide?
Shameless.
Utterly shameless.
At 12:38am this morning I hot a message saying I was working today, airport pickup at 11am, into Krakow then to Lizensk in the border lands.
No other details.
Turned out to be a turd of a day, collected 2 Orthodox Jews took them to the old Synagogue in town.
Can you go back to airport collect our colleagues from xxx flight.
Okay.
Back to town, they all visit the old cemetery for an hour.
I did however notice a lot more of the full regalia guys than normal. I thought hmmm?
They then request to go 2 hours off the route to another cemetery at Nowy Saçz. They are gone 3 hours, I notice hundreds of Orthodox Jews.
I ask Son in Law (Spurs fan) what it could be, he suggests Purim and explains but I see no boozing
Then leaving at 20:30 we have a 2.5 hour drive to Lisensk.
I’ve had no dinner, this is going in the Annoyance thread as a rant.
Boss can only find me a hotel room 40 minutes from there I think
We arrive at Lihansk. Town is a typical one horse Polish place that time forgot.
Except in 1717, Rabbi Elimelech passed away on this day and is buried here.
I turn in the (normally deserted) square and BOOM, THOUSANDS of them, male & females, local Cops all smiley faced conducting traffic and when trying to book me for stopping just shrugging and saying Kourva English.
It was a celebration/memorial to the Rabbi, popup food stalls, prayer areas, music and dancing.
It was like a giant no booze party tbh I was gobsmacked.
Guys were so pleasant all day, people smiling and saying hello.
Never seen (or expected) anything like it.
Marvellous
Now in my hotel and a couple of vodkas before a good nights kip and a decent breakfast!
I got to fly a helicopter.
Well, a simulator actually, but an experience flying round Snowdon in the same simulator on which Wills and Harry (allegedly) trained.
My cousin flew RAF Air Rescue helicopters from Valley back in the '80s…real ones.
