😃 The Little Pleasures of Everyday Life

This came to my door today.

One of my group last week came across the Island to bring his home grown wine. How sweet of him.

Luckily it is drinkable as we leave Friday with only small carry on bags

I have spent all morning doing a DIY job on the porch - bits were falling off!
The little pleasure - I had all the materials and tools available, and easily found.
Not one trip B&Q to get that only screwdriver you didn’t have/couldn’t find, didn’t need any nails or screws - all available and, again, easily found. Even had the the wood required.

Forgot about this went to a garden centre in Otterbourne - the only one I have been in for decades which didn’t have acres of junk, garden stuff you don’t need or want, not even a coffee shop!
Because there was no shitty stuff to deal with, staff had time to talk to you, advise, and generally help; the nice young lady that served us even went and got us a trolly!
Actually came away with stuff I needed and wanted, and the prices were good as well.

I’m a fan of the Sky Arts series, “Landscape Artist of The Year” and “Portrait Artist of The Year”
They’re both run in competitive episodes of 8 artist given 4 hours to create their interpretation of whatever/whoever is placed in front of them.

Last night I caught up with the final episode of 2021’s “Portrait Artist of The Year”…the winner’s £10k commission, to paint the Scottish classical violinist Nicola Benedetti.

The whole episode was a joy to watch…if you enjoy watching the creative process it’s still available on “Catch Up”
An hour very well spent.

Mrs P_F has been spending time today chatting with the “Ukrainian Office” “Refugee” who got out & came to the office yesterday.

Turns out she is married & her & Hubby used to live in Bompey.

And are MASSIVE Saints fans.

And used to go to Mike’s Fish & Chip shop before matches.

Remarkable.

Beers incoming methinks!

All anti pigeon activities will now not be considered endangering harmless wildlife, so with a small amount of cat activity in the garden, it looks like I will not be “scolded” for having my super soaker and nerf gun locked and loaded for action not far from the back door.
Make my day, punks!

Good eating on a pigeon, and its organic. Just sayin.
