😃 The Little Pleasures of Everyday Life

Lunchtime stroll to local Budgens for some Juice & Water & subsequently buying Directors, Pedigree & 49 bottled 3 for £5 as I had some weight available in my luggage.
Then finding Greene King Fireside Ale in the pub.
Lucky daughter was with me. I have Granddad duty later, I’d have drunk their stock it was so good!

Being in blighty.

While Poland is battered by this shit (just hit Krakow Mrs P_F is not finding it funny)

Due to my flight to Turkey being cancelled rebooked on Air France and arrive 12 hours earlier. :slightly_smiling_face:

Today was interview day. Presentation + tech interview + behavioural interview. Seems likely I’m going back to work.

Now here’s a thing.
I was out at deer leap yesterday, walking with young adult 2 and his 6 month old springer, when at a dod washing/swimming hole we were visited by a nice lady with a bus load of retrievers and two other nice little dogs.
Afterwards I thought that I’ve seen pictures on here of a bus load of retrievers, and wondered if I had had a visitation from our own Intiniki.
Was that you Intiniki? If we meet there again we must talk.
As an aside, the veritable herd of retrievers plus 2 were extremely well behaved and friendly - how on earth you get 7 dogs to behave like that I have no idea.
Had to have a little smile as they wandered off, and 3 of them had a bit of a fight in a muddy patch.

Email from Ticketmaster this morning, new dates for a band I might like to see.

Ruts DC.

Too right I’d like to see them, when are they playing? Look down the list, spot that they’re playing Stoke on a weekend that I’m already up there. Ah, can’t do it, it’s the same date as I’ve already booked for the Stranglers.

But fie and behold!! Tis the same venue. They’ve been added to the bill, so it’s the Ruts and the Stranglers in one nostalgia drenched evening, and no more tickets to buy :+1::+1::sunglasses:

Is this with or without Hugh Cornwell?

It will be without. I saw them a couple of years ago. It was ok.

Without. He fell out with the rest of them decades ago. Also, soon after I booked tickets Dave Green promptly pegged out, so strictly speaking I’m only seeing half the Stranglers, Jet Black and Jean Jacques Burnel.

They have some bald Geordie in his place, he’s very good as I recall.

Yeah he was alright. I enjoyed them more than I enjoyed Peter Hook pretending to be Bernard Sumner/Ian Curtis.

Mate promoted a Hugh Cornwall & his band tour of Oman, Abu Dhabi & Dubai. I part sponsored it & invited clients.
The night before the Dubai gig, Abu Dhabi cancelled the gig - (minor Sheikh had died)
They rocked up a day early so mate suggested a villa party.
Loads of beer.
He picked up his guitar plugged into an old Marshall Amp/Speaker I had at home and sang the lot effectively unplugged.
What a magical night of music that was.
Gig rocked as well.
Nice bloke.
Hellish hangovers all round

Arrived home and getting through Heathrow airport was a lot easier than june last year. Only had to show my passport and nothing else.

Puppy sitting for young adult 2’s springer.
Such a good little dog - very cute, and reasonably well behaved.
After having him for a day, the house feels a bit lonely when he goes home.
