😃 The Little Pleasures of Everyday Life

Sadly not. It’s got its work cut out coping with the ravages of the centuries on my face.

I seem to remember from my youth that vaccinations were given by something the size of a big knitting needle, and did hurt like hell.
There was always sweets or some other reward afterwards; tried asking for a sweet after my flu jab some years and I thought the doctor was a little terse and rude.

The Covid jab was the first jab I’ve had that I didn’t feel going in…not a thing.

That’s because you didn’t actually get a jab , Covid isn’t real so they don’t need to inject you with anything, the syringes are fake ones with needles on springs, like those knives you used to buy as kids…

According to scientific studies it doesn’t work so effectively on the older generation @lifeintheslowlane

You may need to hang in on there for the 6G upgrade booster.

Edit: 1G landlines don’t count

Psychosomatic…

You forget that some oldies read the Covid medical reviews every day and I KNOW I’ve had the 6G jab.

@lifeintheslowlane what scanner did your mate have?

The Ayatollah has just acquired several thousand of her granddads slides which she has decided would be nice to look at / keep etc

What a shite job this is going to be

He has an Epson V600 Photo Scanner. It retails at £269 and scans both 35mm and Medium Format and will also scan prints and documents.
If it’s just for 35mm slides you might be better going for a cheaper 35mm only scanner.
Something like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01DJCULEA/ref=as_li_ss_tl?SubscriptionId=AKIAJO7E5OLQ67NVPFZA&ascsubtag=647246938-311-&tag=best_reviews_uk_1-21

Thanks -Ā£269 is a lot more than I want to spend

I did have a look at sending them away and almost shat myself when I sat the price

Yes the v600 is only if you have the larger formats, then it works out quite cheaply, especially if you flog it on EBay when you’ve scanned all the old stuff.
That 35mm scanner looks quite useful…a preview screen so you can skip the rubbish and scan the good.

Good try @lifeintheslowlane but there is only ONE King of the upgrades on this site

Now that’s funny - I thought the same. When the nurse had finished, she said ā€œthats it, your doneā€, and I said I can’t be I didn’t feel anything!
Did think of starting a conspiracy theory that we weren’t actually getting a vaccination, just the appearance of having one.
