😠 The Little Annoyances Of Everyday Life (Part 1)

Ocado, warning in BBC article of ā€œshortagesā€ and possible substitutions.

Just the thing to start the loonies off again. Well done BBC and Ocado - no need for this type of journalism at all, just bloody annoying. Cunts again.

I understand it from Ocado’s POV - they have to tell their customers more items than normal are going to be missing / substituted otherwise the piss off a load of them

The BBC can fuck right off though and stop interfering with a company’s communication with there customers

On the subject of the BBC - my folks said the other day that they hardly ever watch it and what’s the point of the TV licence

And they are in the generation that is suppose to cherish it as untouchable

Tbf I hardly watch it - though I had a bit of an FA Cup footie fest there yesterday.

You can start worrying when there’s a season of Invasion of the Body Snatchers and War of the worlds.

Kier Starmer this morning congratulating a Sun journalist on her promotion. I realize it was his little message to Murdoch, but even so, a Labour leader! Pass the sick bag.

They may have a point

No issues when we logged on and in 1st lockdown we couldn’t even get into the site. Now I can still have a look to see what I want to put on the shopping list.

We’ve been using Asda since the first lockdown, and for some time there was a real problem booking a delivery slot, but since then they have been pretty good.
There are generally always substitutions and things they don’t have, but no need for a BBC article about ā€œshortagesā€!
Several friends have told substitute stories - at least 3 had oranges substituted for things having no connection to citrus or fruit! When we get a substitution that isn’t oranges, we always have a bit of a cheer.

Not had many substitutions but when they do it’s often something we don’t eat. Although on a few occasions we have received extras in our shopping - probably falled in there. Once we got 2 packs of yoghurt - donated to neighbours (at a safe distance) and a bag of ground coffee (neither of us drink coffee) so that was someone’s Christmas present

We have used ocado for long time

Generally they have been great and after a speed bump moving to M&S, have been fine throughout

Some of their early day substitutions have raised an eyebrow at chez CB - eg substituting gluten -free bread for a regular gluten loaded variety

Finding more and more companies removing gluten free products to make room for trendy ā€˜plant based’ things. If you don’t want to eat meat that’s fine but that is a life style choice, being gluten free is a medical necessity

Don’t you find more and more people are ā€œgluten freeā€ today, is that through better medical detection or is it also becoming a choice?

There is certainly a choice thing going on, but most people have an intolerance to gluten to some degree, mostly it is just very mild eg feeling a bit bloated after pasta

I wouldn’t be surprised if those people making a lifestyle choice to cut out gluten did feel better as a result

The Ayatollah is allergic to wheat and has a very severe reaction it, however she was very happy when people chose to cut gluten, because all of a sudden the range available and quality improved exponentially

Think more people have realised it.
Warburton white sandwich for lunch. Fell asleep for an hour every time
Googled white bread.
Ate Brown Bread. Didnt fall asleep.
Now dont eat white bread, minimise cakes & flour.
Not medically critical but dont feel like shit

Very much the same as me, without the falling asleep bit…found that bread (brown or white) blocks me up and can take a while to move through my system, pasta not so much so.

Have cut bread and most flour based stuff out of my diet completely, this includes pizza :frowning: but I feel a lot better for it…

I do miss bread though and am considering trying gluten free just to see if that does make a difference.
