I’ve decided to be annoying and explain.
There are 8 bells, tuned to the notes of an octave. The highest is 1, lowest 8. They start ringing in the order 12345678 called rounds. Then the order changes every time the bells ring, with no bell moving more than one place forwards or backwards and no repeats of changes (order). Sets of variations of these changes are called a method and create a diagram like I posted. You have to learn the pattern of movement between other bells.
There are 40320 possible orders of 12345678. Ringing 5000 of these is called a peal. 1250 is a quarter peal. All 40320 is an extent and has only been done once, taking 18 hours.
