😠 The Little Annoyances Of Everyday Life (Part 1)

Life is funny sometimes - I have just switched OUT of octopus!
My last bill was Ā£94 in credit - asked for the money back, request refused. OK I thought, I’ll reduce my direct debit, but it wouldn’t allow me .to reduce it!
I was then facing an overpayment in the order of £1,000 by October
For my prior time with them, I requested a refund, and got it, and was allowed to amend my DD to what I wanted to pay. When the bills were higher than payments, I made additional payments to keep on the right side.
Very quickly I switched to someone else - I really was NOT going to be forced into this situation.

My advice - keep clear, and watch them carefully, and be ready to jump if they start fucking with your DD.

Checking in for the journey home & leaving geandkids & mad pooch behind
:sob:

Joy of joys. looks like most of tonight will be spent in North Devon A&E. Mrs S has had a nasty bout of diverticulitis. Current wait time 5 hours.

Update on Mrs. S. All is relatively well. She’s on every antibiotic known to mankind and recovering. A CT scan shows her liver appears to be in the wrong place, but that’s not important right now.

Hopefully, coming out tomorrow and we can resume holiday, albeit gently.

In the meantime I have a night of freedom and, being relaxed knowing she’s in good hands, I’ve enjoyed a few local pints (how the fuck can they charge Ā£5.50 a pint in Devon?) and an unexpected treat - goat curry. Now about to polish of the remains of a Pinot Noir.

Jeez. I paid only £4.85 a pint for Doombar at Stansted last night!

But how much was the decent beer?

Compared with Greene King IPA, that WAS decent beer!

Best wishes for speedy recovery

My BiL had a share in a 37ft Sunseeker in the ā€˜80s. On one of the hottest days of the year we bounced all the way down The Solent to Yarmouth at about 35 knots, sunbathed in the harbour for and hour and bounced all the way back to Hamble. Fuckin’ waste of time and money IMO.

We didn’t bother to repeat the experience. :lou_eyes_to_sky:
