My watch needed a new battery. Thinks - Iāll check how much the watch cost two years ago - will tell you later! (I didnāt check!!!)
Had some errands at Tesco, so dropped into Timpsons - at least four blokes squeezed into the small shed.
New battery, said I, offering the said watch.
āWe can do Ā£20.99 with a lifetime guaranteeā no thanks said I, Iāll leave it.
Quick response, not wanting to lose a mug of a customer, who had other things on his mind, more important than a new watch battery.
āWe can do Ā£13.99 with a years guaranteeā. Still far too much (I used to get new batteries from Gasniers in Shirley for Ā£5, but that git bloody retired. Selfish bastard.
So I went with what I knew was extortionate - when I picked it up, saying it was more than the watch was worth, the lazy fuckers hadnāt even set the watch at the right time.
When I did check, the watch had cost Ā£9.99 two years ago - and of course I remember thinking at the time, āwhen it stops working, Iāll just order another one from Amazonā. I really must start leaving myself yellow sticker reminders.
My revenge might well be sticking a large message all over their shed:

Took a trip to Godās own garden in Godās own county to spring Mum C_S from care home for a few hours.
FFS donāt visit Hythe on market day. I have never seen so many mobility scooters/strollers in one place. Looks like they dumped every oap or clinically obese person in the village for the morning. (I may be exaggerating, just a little)
Also - donāt believe the diversions signs on the A31 northbound. Ended up in exactly the same starting point twice. 
. Decided to go cross country to hit the A3 at Petersfield (with no Sat Nav or map) - turned out to be a pleasant drive. 
SSE. Using their estimated energy usage to calculate our direct debit, based on the fact they just overcharged us Ā£620 for the last quarter and we now have to make up the āshortfallā. Add to the fact that Iām not able to update meter readings online, and when I phone them they havenāt used the readings I provide once in 2 years, always having to correct after the fact when they inevitably estimate we are using enough energy to power the Death Star. Cunts.
