😠 The Little Annoyances Of Everyday Life (Part 1)

Scotty gives me grief for my Lidl trips.
Reality is they have a Union Jack button on self checkout and it works brilliantly

They’re more patriotic about Britain than we are. :+1::+1:

And I resent the suggestion that I give you grief for shopping at Lidl’s. I do most of my own shopping there.

Young Adult#1 has just got back from a week in Crete only to find it’s Greek week in her local store…

Edit: No @scotty , just no…

I need to go to bed when Terminator 3 is on TV

My bird’s in Crete at the moment, recuperating after her month-long stint helping out with her daughter’s wedding arrangements. To be fair, I don’t begrudge her the break at all, she was exhausted.

Good for her.

This week is apparently only week two of the Greek holiday season. Young Adult#1 said the locals told them last week was the last week of people wanting to go to do loads of stuff ( because the weather can be unpredictable) and from this week on its about the sun and relaxation- seems the bird has chosen wisely :+1:

I discovered the English option too late. Will be ok next time!

Now, I’ve no objection to customers checking through the tuning once I’m finished, and I’ll admit that middle C unison isn’t as clean as it might have been. But when they pick niggling little holes in it like this cunt…:rage::rage:

So
The nicotine patches were burning my skin, nasty reaction. And only about 8 days in to not smoking. They did work i got to 2nd Vodka before needing Gum or a sad emergency smoke.
And here i am 4 days no patches, 1 piece of gum 1 emergency smoke and even a night out clubbing was managed.
As @scotty asked i mentioned the sense of smell is back and acute. Damn Hyacinths smell wonderful!

And today I’m sipping a saved for a rainy day drop of Tamnavulin and oh hell yes, the taste sense is back big time.
Wow.

Annoyance? 2.

  1. Eating like mad and can feel the Kgs & waistline expanding
  2. No urges but actual physical affects - dizzyspells especially. Most unpleasant

1). I blame being a fat bastard on giving up the tabs (& Covid lockdowns)

  1. Had no physical effects - mainly a headache for first day or so, but nothing else. I think I was just at the stage where I really wanted to give up.

I developed a manic sweet tooth as soon as I stopped drinking. Still have it. :frowning::smile:

Fledgling birds - all previous years they have left me alone (apart from the bloody racket of wrens early in the morning).
Yesterday - one fledgling robin flew in the kitchen door, and kept trying to fly out the (closed) window. Also, one fledgling bluetit got into one of my netted ff raised beds.
Young adult 2 dealt with the robin, I had to go and raise the nets up to let the bluetit out

IF cars are parked on your side of the road it is my priority, don’t try and squeeze your Chelsea tractor between my car and the parked cars…wait you impatient b&@$h.

And whilst I’m at it, what is this fashion now for cutting corners when turning right into roads?? The amount of times I’ve nearly had someone take the nose of my car off because the can’t use their steering wheel properly…

I think you’ll find the rules in The Highway Code are now just treated as advisories. :lou_eyes_to_sky:
Driving is an art…or it used to be, today the ā€œartā€ is texting whilst driving.

My Energy Supplier asking me for a meter reading when I have a fricking Smart Meter installed.

And their pop-up chat on their website makes a beep every time you get a message, so annoying.,

I’ve had that - I just ignore them.
Also had a bloke at the door asking to read the meter. No said I - I have a smart meter.
Can you read it t to me then says he. No said I, I have no idea how to read a smart meter.
So fuck off, I thought - and he did!
