Out of hours call from recruitment agent saying a candidate I made an offer to for a senior role and who accepted on Monday has now withdrawn.

Apparently her current company matched our salary and benefits as well as giving her the resources and budgets they kept telling her they had no money for.

Iā€™m not getting into a bidding war.

Luckily have another candidate to call on so all is not lost, but thatā€™s not the point.

Letā€™s face it mate, it canā€™t have been her company loyalty that drew you to her in the first place. If she was prepared to walk out on them for a few quid more from you, why would you expect her to honour an agreement with you if a better offer came along, no matter who it was from?
