I donât know about other residents but bit concerned that it could take a while to get it and we want to get it done. My partner put aside money for this (essentially our holiday/gig fund of 2020 and a bit more). We donât have a lot of cladding on the building, probably the major issue is the lack of fire stopping. We are currenly only 4 floors high too. We havenât had any fire watches etc. So itâs not been like any of the people in fully clad high rises.
We also have the added bonus that the freeholder has sold the roof space and we have seen possibly the new owner and others come around the other week eyeing up the car park and where to put portacabins. It is an interesting one as they want to build new flats on top of a building where there are fire issues and people cannot get remortgages or a mortgage to buy. So wonder if they are willing to put in to help remediate so they arenât making worthless flats.
I donât know the inâs and outs of the cladding issue apart from what Iâm told, but this is something you shouldnât wonder about but get a proper answer from the freeholder/owner.
I am chuckling at that comment. We have a managing company and can barely get a response from them and we never hear from the freeholder. We have asked about if they are going to contribute but we never get any answers.
I would never buy a leasehold again if I can help it.
I think at this stage of the lockdown, the things that annoy all of us are the things in our houseâŚ
Mine include:-
- The dog, who barks at nothing
- The cat, primarily interested in Felix
- Dickhead workmen. The sort who arrive at ten to five and then start drawing sharp intakes of breath about a bit of pipe you need for your dishwasher. Well, if you were here at eight like you said youâd be, perhaps it wouldnât be a fucking problem.
- The missus. Telling me in great detail things she is annoyed with, mostly the slings and arrows of the gas service industry.
- Lastborn. Not very annoying at all really. The occasional âjust like her motherâ moment, but she is young and relatively full of joy.
- Boyf of lastborn. The least annoying human in the house. Mildly annoying in specific circumstances, such as at 2am when heâs got fuck all to do the next day so is playing FIFA with his mates downstairs online.
Oh fook right off. A Cat only likes Felix? Do you have ANY idea how lucky you are?
Ours RIP only ate the American version of Whiskas.

Until in desperation we tried canned tin of Tuna we found in Lidl.
Then she ONLY ate that Tuna.

My Malaysian visa runs out soon and as I cannot get back to Philippines and Visa for Equitorial Guinea not yet processed. am being sent to Singapore to âhelp outâ a euphamism for they have fucked up and require some corrective action from somebody that can.
I will be brassic within a fortnight of being there.
Thailand has strict 14 day quarantine rules.
However you can spend them in quarantine at a Golf Resort.
Or in a Health Spa in Phuket.
Just saying
Oh if you do ho to Sing, perhaps inviting a girlfriend to the quarantine hotel would be unwise. Dont want to join that other bloke from Southamptonfor 3 years
At least you can go out for a beer there
At some point this year itâs not going to rain when I am bbqing
Can go out for a beer in KL as well
Slightly bored so decide to check my Twitter feed, end up going down a rabbit hole and getting annoyed with peopleâŚ
You wonât learn, will you.
