But does mean that the playing field is level between Uber and a traditional taxi company
Why should Uber be able to avoid their employment obligations or tax obligations, just so that punters in cities can get a cheap cab

Doesnât the fact that Uber exists and people want to use them tell you something about the existing taxi market?
By the same logic you could argue that sweat shops in the far east are fine because there is a demand for air jordans in the west
People use them because they are cheap - if they are cheap because they donât pay tax, holiday pay of the minimum wage - that is not on
Their only real innovation was the ability to book a cab and pay for it via an app
IMHO it is solely down to the app and the ease with which people can book cabsâŚno more standing on the side of a road waiting for a Black Cab to drive by, no more having to phone a call centre and then wait for the cab, no more having to run the risk of taking an unlicensed cabâŚ
My local cab company have launched an app and I have used them numerous times to book cabs, donât have Uber down here in the Outlands and even if we did I would still use my local cab company.
Wasnât trying to apply any logic just pointing out something.
Itâs a service that people want and clearly will use.
The issue of pay and taxes etc wasnât what I was pointing out either
The sweatshop analogy was a bit unnecessary
Exactly
Soz
WOW!
Cool!
The deniers are out in force on that thread
People, specifically @Nottarf-Krap, have asked why I donât like the hack minge James OâBrien.
Exhibit A.
Have i ever asked you why you donât like him? I donât recall that.
Nicked
