Boxing gets something of a bad rep, and did so in the initial formation of this thread, but it is starting to become my favourite sport.
It is, simultaneously, the oldest sport in the world and one of the most progressive. People have been knocking the fuck out of each other since the dawn of time. Combine that with âonly punchâ and ânot punching someone in the bollocksâ and youâve got boxing. Itâs ancient. Then youâve got the fact that unlike most other sports apart from tennis and MMA, thereâs just as much respect for female participants as men.
A bloke I shared digs with was a proper boxing fight, and once told me that any evenly matched bout was a good bout. Boxing obviously agrees.
Youâve got Savannah Marshall headlining a Sky Fight Night and Iâve no doubt that women are eventually going to be big draws in the PPV space as they get themselves established. Yep, this is all new and still in its infancy on the big stage, but I think itâs very exciting. Marshall is an example of something weâve not seen in the womenâs ranks before - a KO rate of over 80%. There will be plenty of other trailblazers to follow.

Some of the replays show it was still pretty brutal. The âshotâ that put him down was a push. A bit like the âprodâ move in the Worms games!
Didnât see Dillian getting a round there and I think he has been fucking badly advised by his people during the build up. Canât imagine any other promoter other than Silver Spoon wanting to touch him.
He wonât be earning that sort of money again.
