Debt that gets paid off at a very low rate. Don’t forget I did have to pay for my uni education, unlike some of you lot.
Wonder what Pap makes of Unite suspending the bloke that dared challenge Red Ken to lead the union. More leftie democracy
That’s just wishful thinking to make yourself feel better, @cobham-saint .
The kids do worry about the debt. I’ve got a kid in the third year of Uni right now. I worried about my relatively meagre student loans while they existed.
And it’s not a fact of life. It’s a policy decision.
Fuck’s sakes, @lord-duckhunter
It’s Red Len, thank you very much.
Also, if you want to look at anti-democratic practices, the right has that sewn up, whether in the Labour Party or politics at large.
I would have _loved _some lefty democracy during Corbyn’s second leadership election, but was stopped from voting for saying fuck and cunt on Twitter. It’s a good job no-one’s joined up the dots. @fatso would get banned immediately for his “fuckcunter” insult he sometimes uses
who is that in ur new av pap?
Ron Dicko with a fucking shooter, Bear!
How can I get my postal vote in there is not enough time for the boat to sail from Manila and arrive in Southampton before the votes are counted.
Cheating Tory bastards.
I am non-familiar. Who does he play for?
Ron Dickerson played for Pompey obviously a cunt
Left wing for Spartak Moscow
I have to say that as a Labour supporter, I’m encouraged rather than dismayed that so many Labour MPs are choosing not to stand again. If the local parties are smart, they’ll select Corbyn favouring candidates - both in seats that Labour MPs are vacating, and in Scotland, where the party barely has any representation.
Most pundits are treating Scotland as if it’s a done deal for the SNP. The reality is that Labour has almost everything to gain there, and almost nothing to lose. You shouldn’t have stood alongside them Tories, idiot New Labour peeps. If they can get some Corbyn-supporting candidates into those seats, I think we’ll see some real tussles.
The SNP has previously played it ultra-smart. Their policies have softened blows that England has had to endure. This not only plays well with their electorate, but it also creates the impression among some English people that the Scots are taking the piss.
That’s why I don’t really get the business about Scotland being a straight up fight between the Tories and the SNP. The SNP are popular in Scotland because they’ve effectlvely blocked neoliberal policy, such as tuition fees. However, I don’t think they’ve done themselves any favours with the hypocrisy of their demands for independence, especially so soon. They want a referendum to leave this country because they want to be independent enough to surrender much of their sovereignty to the EU.
The Scots are a canny bunch, apparently a bit referendum-weary - plus a third of Yes votes in IndyRef voted Leave in the EU referendum. Get some Corbynistas contesting those seats and let’s see what happens. Sending more clones of Kezia Dugdale and Jim Murphy ain’t doing the trick.
It’s Ron Dixon, @philippinesaint
I will not have a fictional scouse legend impugned this way.
i just popped over saintsweb see what them bros are thinking Bout Things.
there’s far better talent on the Labour backbenches than the sorry parade of Corbynist nincompoops presently embarrassing themselves on radio and TV
That one was from frbl. I miss frbl That bro knows how to construct an entertaining sentence srs.
Pap, I like you as a poster & we’ve had some good political battles over the years. I admire the way you stick to your principles & for setting up this place. I even popped into one of your meets to buy you a pint (goat boy was a witness) and I don’t normally drink with lefties. So I hope you take this in the spirit it’s intended, but you’re fucking deluded man . You can’t really belive that more Corbyn clones will result in more seats. I know you’re something to do with the Labour Party , but I hope for their sake that candidate selection & election strategy aren’t part of your breif. The Labour Party will never get near power again until they ditch Corbyn supporters, not attract more.
@lord-duckhunter - there’s cross-house fondness here too - but you’ve a long history of making wildly inaccurate predictions on election results, normally doing yourself up because you’re convinced UKIP (of all parties) is going to register a thumpin’ victory.
Now I’m _not _predicting much else at this point except Labour is going to make a nonsense of that swing. They might not win, but they’ve nowt to lose, unlike May, who’s just triggered a popularity contest and decided not turn up for the heats
May with a 60 majority, minimum
