Except that she has nothing to gain and everything to lose

If she does well, so what - it will have no real bearing on the lead the tories have.

If she did badly, it definately would.

Down voted for comprehension deficit.

Bob specifically said “full of…shoppers cars”, not shop workers.

Bearsy is spot on as usual in his assessment of the situation.

Grovelling retraction and apology from BTripz or forum falls to dust and ruin.

Her fear of debating, or talking to anyone except the bussed in brain dead doesn’t come across as either strong or stable. But as CB says, far to much to lose by letting millions watch her fall apart on national tv.

But that should be irrelevant. As a politician she has a duty to engage with the voting public, whether she likes it or not, whether it’s perceived as potentially detrimental to her campaign or not. If the public, who she serves, want her to engage in a public debate with the leaders of other parties then she has a moral obligation to do so.

The Tory party (and all parties) should be confident enough in their policies and leader that they should have nothing to fear from putting their point across in a public forum.

But why does this have to be in the for of a leaders debate?

10 years ago they didn’t exist and the politicians didn’t have a problem getting the message across.

The only reason we have them is because Gordon brown was to stupid to recognise that he was being out manourved by Cameron and Osbourne.

Down voted for lack of cooperation and for not propositioning @fatso as is the custom in these circumstances.

More dirt for the dossier. I will add this case to the party pooping section along with the previous incident involving the Cuck Jamie Mandingo.

They do it in the States. They do it in France. If you are strong and stable and confident in what you are saying why would you have a problem with putting your case over to the public. Trouble is the snidey way of doing things now is to buy space on Facebook and the like rather than standing head to head and standing up for your policies. I also see now that the National Hunting Association (or whatever they are called) are hoping that a Tory landslide will help in their cause to get the ban on fox hunting repealed. So yes, I want to see May on a stand on national TV being grilled on her stance on the NHS, tax, fox hunting so that she is well on the record come polling day.

With thanks to @krg_ for finding this :-

So what if the US and French do it? That doesn’t make it the right thing to do. Also, their debates are for the Presidency, that is not what we are voting for here.

All a debate does is play to the strengths of the best performer - not the strengths of the policy.

And what do people vote for? The best performer or the best policies? If Theresa really is the best for us and “strong and stable” stand up with the other leaders and prove it.

I guess my argument would be that if the public want it, the public should get it. It’s our election after all. If politicians can’t provide the voting public with the forums and debates they want, then it’s the politicians that are in the wrong, not the public.

We’re constantly told that it’s a democracy, that we’re in control of our society and country, and then we’re told that May won’t do the debates because she doesn’t see the point. Well, it’s not up to May to see the point, it’s up to May to give the voting public the forums they want.

It’s not a matter of personality winning out over policy - we’re constantly told that Corbyn is unelectable because of his personality, but he would still do the debates because he feels Labour’s policies hold up in the face of scrutiny - does May think otherwise of her own party’s policies?

pfft I’m the public, and I want corbyn and may to anal bang live on tv, with ant & dec commentating. Not sure who is gonna be front, and who is gonna be back, but whoever cums last gets to be president.

Mays played a blinder

All you lot & othersare talking about is the no debate issue.

Not 2 consecutive posts on any policy stuff

Smoke & mirrors.

May has today announced that she wants to bring back fox hunting. " Personally i have always been in favour of fox hunting". Has she gone completely bonkers, surely she must know that the majority of the country are against hunting? This decision will even dismay many in her own party. In her arrogance she clearly believes that she is on course for a large majority, and therefore can do whatever she likes, in favour of a minority of bloodthirsty upper class twits who want to return to the dark ages, with complete disregard to the wishes of the majority. Latest polling suggests that fox hunting remains deeply unpopular, with 84% of the public saying that the blood sport should not be made legal again. But Mayhem not only has said there should be a new vote on the matter, but she personally likes foxes being hunted down and ripped apart for entertainment. This could well come back and bite her on the arse, let’s hope so. Lets see how much attention this gets in the media, although they will probably, knowing how detrimental this issue could be to her vote, ignore it and give her an easy ride. No wonder she is running scared of a debate. Apart from the 1%, anyone with an IQ larger than their boot size who would vote for this woman to have free reign must be as bonkers as she is. Bomb Syria, bring back blood sports, flog what is left of the NHS to American health care companies etc etc. This will be the reality of a Theresa May ‘Presidency’. Because with no mention of the party she represents in any of the election literature, a Presidency is clearly how she sees it. Our very own version of Trump, she is aping him all the way. God help us.

lol has she? That is big Own Goal I reckon.

I’m not big against foxhunting myself, cos i feel bit hypocrit making song & dance about barbaric animal practices while stuffing my face with pig flesh, but this is the kind of Dumb Issue that The People will vote against imo.
