The 2017 Election Thread

Downvoted for not taking a couple of things into consideration:-

  1. High street shops don’t open magically at 9:00am. There are almost always people in beforehand.

  2. @btripz has already said that these spaces would be further from people’s places of business, so they’d need walking time.

I would advise getting back to moaning about people that don’t have foreskins. You seem much more clued up on that than basic retail.

There is no way it’ll be full up at 08:00am. No fkn way. Have you even been to a town centre car park? There’ll be some people there at 8:00am, no question. Some. I wouldn’t say more than 25% occupancy though, and that is fkn pushing it. 8:30, 8:45, it’ll start to fill up. No way it’s going to be full at 8:00am. BTripz owes the frm an apology here, it’s not the first time he’s tried to pull the wool over out eyes.

Can we not just move the shop workers into ‘pens’ above the shop they work at? They can stay in their pen on a 0 hours contract until needed i.e. Christmas or 3pm on Sat afternoon etc. People just need to think outside of the box and stop the downvoting.

Downvoted for suggesting the poor live in biros*.

* This downvote is contingent on the word “pen” having one definition.

What a wonderful mature democracy we live in when we can do this, and I imply zero sarcasm.

I can think of at least two countries that would lose their shit if someone placed a swastika on their map. Viva freedom of speech.

Theresa May will not debate Jeremy Corbyn ahead of election after BBC says it will not ‘embarrass’ her

Looks as if we’ll have prominent people from Labour & Tories in the full debate rather than party leaders which isn’t good enough from either side frankly. I can’t see how Corbyn can pass up the opportunity to call May out on just how gutless she is to avoid any confrontation. She’ll get an easy ride from Andrew Neill and will have enough cosy, stage-managed events publicised everywhere to coast through.

As for the BBC - i’ve never been much one for slagging them over being biased but it’s becoming more evident by the day just how soft they are on the Tories. Marr made her squirm a little the other week but any self-respecting journalist could tear shreds from her over her Government’s record and you’ll see just what lengths they will go to avoid that over the coming weeks. Shameful.

Mayhem’s latest policy announcement is that she will put a cap on energy prices. This is a straight nick off Ed Miliband’s policy at the last election. The difference being, that when Miliband announced it the press reacted as if he had just advocated the slaughter of the new born. May’s announcement of the same policy has been hailed by the same press as the best thing since sliced bread. That tells you all you need to know about the ‘free and fair’ media in this country.

The Beeb have said that they wont embarrass May by putting and empty chair on instead. Surely that is being soft on her? If she is to provide strong and stable leadership she should be able to face a televised debate. Her reasoning is that she faces Corbyn in Parliament every week so why should she? For the simple reason that we want to see our candidates slug it out between each other at a staged event just as many other democracies do. Gutless.

I must be one of the only ones that can’t be fagged by a televised debate. I just don’t see what they bring to the table.

They’re stage managed, they know the questions beforehand. They never answer the questions they just get in to a slanging match.

I’d rather watch a slug climb a wall…

Haven’t you heard, it’s different for them, because Red Ed was a Marxist and team Theresa are ok because they are nazis(some people moan about this, but never moan when Labour get branded. Wonder why?).

Anyway it is different because Ed wanted a freeze, but team Theresa only want a very nice cap. No mention of what the cap will be, £1, £1m, £1bn, who knows? The only thing we know is that it won’t stop prices going up.

I’m sure the fascist press have made that clear.

Who the fuck are team Theresa and how do tories feel about their party being hijacked by a mad woman, who appears to dream of being a dictator?

The tories were the ones that demanded them for the sake of democracy, but do their usual when they don’t think everything is stacked in their favour. Not the kind of people you should trust.

Corbyn will answer questions.

Watching May’s mouth when she talks is like watching a slug(not climbing though. Covered in salt).

More good news from team turdhead.

With you on this

The Tories originally asked for them through pure political opportunism, knowing that Cameron would kick Brown’s arse - what they didnt factor in was Clegg’s performance.

Tory short-termism? That’s surprising.

Glibness aside, I think you are pretty spot on with that there assessment.

It doesn’t really matter how shit or boring the debates would be, the fact is that May doesn’t have a valid reason to avoid them other than fear.
