Post of the decade
Sad times.
This country is basically full of sheep who follow whatever self serving mantras are served up. The sheep have swallowed the strong and stable leadership bollocks. Actually forget sheep, it is more like turkeys voting for Christmas. Goodbye NHS.
Is that just a list, or are we going to have some substantiation?
You asked for a list of the policies, not substantiation. Here are the policies I think are shit. We’ve done a number of debates on a number of the above, so I’m not going to just copy what has already been written - you can go back and look if you’re that bothered.
I think this is spot on. I’m a remainer and have been since day one but there’s a bit of the fuck em let them do their worst now about the whole thing. I find the EU’s ‘sabre rattling’ pretty pathetic and at the end of the day I’m sure the UK will survive in one form or another outside. Being pretty ancient the main impact of all this will be on the generations who come after and not on me!
We all know that the EU isn’t perfect and remains a gravy train for a lot of Europeans working within the system but as a concept a federated Europe isn’t a bad idea as such. I would have preferred we stayed in and tried to change things from the inside we sure won’t from the outside but in reality I wonder whether there would ever have been the desire to do this amongst our political elite. The EU is probably at a cross roads anyway and the UK leaving should precipitate some significant changes - I say should but with vested interests at stake I wonder if I will live to see that day!
The EU will play hardball if for no other reason to deter anyone else from leaving.
Instead of just coming on here to vote me down hypo, why dont you join in the debate? Having found out that you have married into a family of non-practicing Muslims, I am really hoping to find out if Theresa May is in your family tree somewhere.
Maybe but they have a big problem as they need to change. Any groundswell in France or Germany for a further exit will basically see the end of the EU and any chance of a federated Europe. That in itself is not good as it will encourage further growth in nationalism and a less stable Europe.
The EU needs to change for the greater good not just play hard ball against a nation who are relatively strongly placed to go it alone.
I don’t see it as them playing hard ball, rather just protecting their own interests. People call it a divorce, but i look at it more as 2 businesses ending a preferential relationship(not amicably) and one of them is a much bigger business and holds most the cards, so will probably give us a bit of a kicking for annoying them. It could never be easy for us whatever the situation in Europe, but expect a real hiding as May looks to make Europe her Falklands.
“May looks to make Europe her Falklands” God help us but I fear you could be right
Ffs just seen May on TV. Think it was in some factory (meeting real people no doubt). She said “strong and stable” 4 times and repeated a sentence twice 're giving her a strong hand blah blah blah. Just been listening to Russell Brand’s Under the Skin with prof Sophie Scott 're voice and language and they said we remember the glib lines but not the substance. So strong and stable will work.
Does she wave her hand in front of the person’s face every time she says ‘strong and stable’?
I am more angry that we aren’t pointing the finger at the right on Labour junta from the South, they screwed this up and this is the reason we’re all in this situation.
The North has turned its back on Labour in swathes, they never listened concerning immigration issues, integration issues and issues that didn’t affect them, the EU couldn’t be questioned for years as you’d be hounded for being a racist and this is now the result.
A split party and a split North/South thought process within the party, the right on liberal faction should actually join the liberals or we should get a relevant party here in the North that reflects the North and the forgotten.
Diane Abbot, is that what we have?
Backstabber Watson?
Thornberry?
I want to vomit.
And we think we’re better than the tories? Morally we are superior but politically?
We’re awful and going to get trounced.
Listen to the core vote of the North.
The core vote of the north appeared to be UKIP supporters who have now gone Tory.
