The 2017 Election Thread

It is probable that May will win, but it is likely that her majority will also be cut. If so, how does that equate with the strong majority she was after?

I disagree!

I think a putter would do more damage - but it’s all about the swing.

I am conflicted with this one. We have a really good Tory councillor who has done a great job for our village. He doesnt bang on about Party issues and just gets on with the things we need to get done. He deserves to be voted back in and I am sure he will, but I dont want to vote Tory.

Surely you vote for the individual you think will do the best job and whose policies and ideas best align with what you think should be prioritised in the local area? If s/he happens to be a Tory then so what? Would you rather have a shit, self-serving Lib Dem councillor?

Liberal’s are tories with a conscience who dislike their nation more than others.

I couldn’t align with an ideology I despise because of a poxy bin collection, that’s tory all the way through, no contest just vote them and admit it.

I don’t know what the Lib Dem candidate is like. He could be just as good if he ever got in. Tory safe seat here though so we will probably never get to find out.

Party politics have no place at parish council level

The nazis are still trying to rid the world of those they believe to be the useless eaters. There has been no savings, but thousands have had their life’s destroyed whilst private companies take hundreds of millions of our money.

If you had a disability and things were getting worse, whilst you’re benifits are being reduced, how would you feel being asked questions like this by an assessor who has no mental health training?

"Can you tell me why you haven’t killed yourself yet?”

May, IDS, Gove, Hunt, Gideon and the pig fucker, you and anyone that has ever backed you, deserve your place in hell.

Why aren’t they all independents then?

I agree, but our previous parish council were firmly in bed with the Tory borough council.

Because they allow this bullshit. At parish level, there is very little discretional spending once you have sorted the basics, therefore I cannot understand what party politics adds at this level.

just make decisions thatvare good for the parish and let central government worry about ideology

So personality over party? Fair play, now lets see prospective councillors drop their parties.

Woods are too light these days, plus a lot of putters have pointed edges to break through the skull.

What makes you think that’s likely? I’d be very surprised, and would class it as unlikely looking at the bookies.

Cut nose off to spite face, yeah?

Its almost as if some Conservatives aren’t evil hellspawn

This is the sort of quality, useful information I require when deciding who to vote for. Go Cherts!

I think we are confusing Parish Council elections with Borough Council elections. Dont know about elsewhere, but here we only have Borough Council elections today. Borough Councillors are party alligned (or independent). Parish councillors are usually stand as independent.

Well, I guess by law of averages they cant all be evil fuckers.
