I just notice patterns and can remember previous. It wasnāt the posting style that got Barry banned. It was the hostility toward others and the fact he was ubiquitous, warned and disrupting other conversations.
The other pattern Iāve noticed is that new and interesting people on the site get this inquisition and these accusations. Whatās the end goal there, mate?

We can go on talking about freedom of speech all day long, but there is a massive difference between freedom of speech and constant antagonistic posting. Barry had plenty of opportunities to rein in his style and to present his views in a way that was less provocative and confrontational. He was warned on more than one occasion and given more than one opportunity to adapt. He chose not to and just carried on as he usually does with no consideration for the community of other posters. It is a shame that he was either unable or unwilling to change his style, but you canāt have one person constantly ruining the site for others without consequences. I hope Barry finds a home for his own peculiar style and one that can accommodate him without alienating others. He had a good run for his money here but ultimately only has himself to blame for the way things panned out.
Iām actually not happy for things to go personal. It gets there far too often, and I actually asked you to stop getting personal on here a little while ago (maybe a year). You refused point blank.

I started writing what amounted to an obituary for Barry but ended up deleting it. Basically I think everything has already been said. What Pap has said mostly makes a lot of sense but people are complex and Barry was not only a dim tit. I also think itās grossly unfair to say he didnāt have any principles.
Ultimately it is Papās perogative to decide who can and cannot post here and I can appreciate that he may not want to and in fact does not need to put up with the unnecessary hassle that Barry created.

The fact that I donāt know what happened there is down to my ignorance as I donāt follow Scottish politics very closely. That is why I was asking the question about who to believe. ASseems to accept that he has behaved badly towards some women (in fact one interviewer told him that his actions were āappallingā) which would seem to indicate that there was a case to answer?
