Iāve no interest in standing in for Barry. I found Barryās persona interesting in large part because of how different he is to me and because of how difficult I found it to understand his motivations. So I donāt really understand the basis of your proposal.
Barry had strongly held offensive opinions and you couldnāt live with that on the forum despite that being the reality of the world all around you. You want the forum to be your little safe space cut off from the realities of real life.
Understandable, but be honest about it at least.

I would like to also point out that there has been a long standing separate thread of bullying against Barry whereby he has been portrayed as a kind of simpleton whereas heās actually shown himself on multiple occasions to be extremely well travelled and well informed. The conclusions he drew from that information were certainly debatable and that is exactly what he did, but that debate wouldnāt have been possible if he was the ignoramus many of you claimed him to be.
As I said, I understand you have many problems in your life and you want somewhere to safely process it all. That doesnāt mean Barry or anyone else needs to have the same view as you. Perhaps if you told Barry honestly how you felt he would have tried to be more accomodating.

Barry pushed with his views until he alienated most of the visitors to this site. Pap clearly pointed out his form and you can look back over the years to evidence it. I donāt have the patience of @pap or the other mods and wouldnāt have stood for his behavior for so long.
I wouldnāt go about accusing long standing posters as being bullies- in a sense some of your own posts could be seen as being symptomatic of being a self righteous bully imho, but meh

Whatās your point? Provoking people is a normal part of human interaction that can serve many purposes. Youāve been provoking me by referring to me as Barry since I got here. @BTripz has been repeatedly trying to provoke me with comments on my posts about the MSM which mainly only serve to demonstrate his own ignorance. Pretty much every post on this forum can be seen as a provocation to someone depending on their perspective.

I donāt see why, I wrote a post, MOT wrote a post basically agreeing with what I had said but couched in an adversarial style I then reiterated my original post with some small elaboration.
Before I get any crosser, thereās another one to block; I love the good natured arguments and opinions, but utter bollocks I do not have to put up with.

It was a tough call, which is one of the reasons it happened over a long period. A two day silence just before we went top of the league, warned at the time that the next sanction would be longer. We quickly get back to āmostly hostileā status, Iāve got reports coming in telling me that heās being ignored by people and multiple people telling me that heās ruining the site for them.
I donāt disagree. If Barru were employed at a firm and took this attitude, heād be gone. Most other Saints forums have already, or would quite quickly, tire of his shit. Five years. I donāt think he lasted a year on SaintsWeb. He survived the UI, but everybody did back then. I think even Nick is pissed off with that sort of lark.
Iām fundamentally at odds with the mediocrity bit. If anything, I think it was Barryās inability to engage with some of the counter-arguments on here that underpinned a lot of his hostility. You donāt have to be Einstein to survive here, but it helps a lot if you can tell the difference between a supportive comment and a friendly one.
I donāt think he had any principles. I donāt think he understood what things meant. I donāt think he was big on the detail so when someone had more, he lashed out. He lashed out a lot.
You may be right about it being a mistake. They happen and Iāve made them. Iām not going to lose any sleep over this. Many of us have stuck up for him time and again only to haave it completely thrown back in our faces. In the last couple of months alone, people have been Russian assets, terrorist sympathisers, Shamima Begumās proxy, or whatever else he thinks is the unholiest of holies.
Mediocre is Barryās wet dream. Heās a dim tit whoās only skill is poncing and winding people up. The only area in which Iād say he is truly extraordinary is stamina, and itās not an asset.

I donāt think these comparisons are helpful or remotely credible, nor is the suggestion that people are multi-posting or possibly the person we banned this morning.
