As a point of order regarding some points Pap made a while back. As someone who went to Paps school I would like to offer the alternative opinion that the school was turd.
It was diverse and multi cultural in a similar sense to how i imagine apartheid south Africa probably was. The Asians had the West playground, posh portswood Basset highfield and Chilworth had the East building hall and basset green and the flower estates had the east building playground and fields.
People from the flower estates were cunts.

Anyway, FWIW, I think Pap has shown very poor form on this thread by a) deliberately or ignorantly misinterpreting TCK’s post, and, as a result, perpetrating a completely unjustified slur against a respected member of the forum, and b) stubbornly refusing to apologise after TCK clarified (unnecessarily imo) his intended interpretation.
It’s a shame because this has detracted from what has been an interesting and insightful discussion on the subject, imo.

What era was this? I don’t remember it being segregated as you claim. I had several friends from diferent ethnic backgrounds and having come from one of your posh areas my friends all came from the flower estates or mansbridge estate.

But that’s what lefties generally are? They bitch and moan about how unfair society is, how life is so hard for others, blah, blah, blah, until something happens that has a profound change on their life. Then it becomes a NIMBY situation, and they justify their lack of consistency by saying its about their family or similar, so they are happy to break their morals.
Well guess what, that’s what righties do all the time. We think about ourselves and our families. We just don’t hide behind a faux concern for others.
